Good evening Ms. Feather.

Spray
by Sarah Teasdale

I knew you thought of me all night,
I knew, though you were far away;
I felt your love blow over me
As if a dark wind-riven sea
Drenched me with quivering spray.

There are so many ways to love
And each way has its own delight --
Then be content to come to me
Only as spray the beating sea
Drives inland through the night.

Something to ponder, (with a smile)

No one believes SENIORS. . . everyone thinks they are SENILE.

An elderly couple were celebrating their sixtieth anniversary.
The couple had married as childhood sweethearts and had moved
back to their old neighborhood after they retired.

Holding hands they walked back to their old school. It was not
locked, so they entered, and found the old desk they'd shared,
where Andy had carved "I love you, Sally."

On their way back home, a bag of money fell out of an armored car,
practically landing at their feet. Sally quickly picked it up,
but not sure what to do with it, they took it home. There, she
counted the money--fifty-thousand dollars.

Andy said, "We've got to give it back." Sally said, "Finders keepers."
She put the money back in the bag and hid it in their attic.

The next day, two FBI men were canvassing the neighborhood
looking for the money, and knock on the door. "Pardon me, but
did either of you find a bag that fell out of an armored car
yesterday?" Sally said, "No."

Andy said, "She's lying. She hid it up in the attic."
Sally said, "Don't believe him, he's getting senile."
The agents turned to Andy and began to question him.
One said: "Tell us the story from the beginning."
Andy said, "Well, when Sally and I were walking home from school
yesterday.... .
"
The first FBI guy turns to his partner and says, "C'mon, we're
outta here."

They are quite beautiful. Mandevilla is native to South America, and because of our climate, we can grow them here.

It is a multi-strand climbing vine that grows to 20 feet high, with the pink flowers shooting out very randomly.

I am lucky enough to have two, they are each about 10 feet high right now.

Mandevilla is similar to the climbing vine clematis that I have.
In early spring it sends out tendrils which can be trained, but I let it go willy nilly, more fun that way.

"I take it your angel is not me!! LOL"

You are more the devil's delight. ;^)

Sweet eyes and smiling lips
a knowing wink and wicked hips.
Sultry as a summer night,
and sensually alive, oh so right!

Good girls may to my side come,
but their lips never touch rum.
Then good girls get up and go,
But bad girls stay you know.

Which will make memories to keep,
who to interesting conclusions leap?
Those who are truly most alive,
those for whom I do most strive.

I'm such a bad man at times, naughty as a way of life. ;^)

Up late tends to make for dark poems sometimes.

The Cost

Dark winds,
wander across a barren plain of late,
echoing emptiness.

Only memories,
exist where man once did,
remnants drying.

Empty world,
where only wind moves now,
the last laugh.

They killed God,
and lost everything in their hate,
as Angels wept.

Haters ruled,
separating Him from His flock,
by legal fête

All had to kowtow,
and all paid the final price,
for the few.

Dark winds,
wander across a barren plain of late,
echoing emptiness.

Good morning!!

Two very different poems to ponder this morning. The first a delight, the second a deeper tone.

I like both of them very much.

Sorry I was not in The Lair to respond.
