Put ICE on your cell phone

Mobiles 999 contact idea spreads "A campaign encouraging people to store personal details on their mobile phones to help identify victims of accidents and disasters has taken off since the bomb attacks in London.

Users are being urged to enter a number in their phone's memory under the heading ICE - In Case of Emergency.

Paramedics or police would then be able to use it to contact a relative.

The idea is the brainchild of East Anglian Ambulance Service paramedic Bob Brotchie and was launched in May..."

Make sure to put credit card numbers in there too...ICT (In Case of Theft).

Good Idea......chances are if you have a cell phone, you were chatting on it when you had your accident. I hate cell phone drivers.........shut up and drive....just my opinion.

Unless you lock your phone they have access to your contacts anyway....the benefits seem worth a little irritation if the phone is stolen IMO

Caught this on Snopes.com the other day; added an In Case of Emergency to my cell phone address book. Not a bad idea.

At least in the store, they are not in control of a vech that they can't control to begin with...... I hope they outlaw useless chatter on the roadways....again, just my opinion........

I wish they would too....dont see it happening though.

And you havent lived untill some schmuck runs into your backside in the grocery store because they are too busy "chatting" to drive the silly cart :)

They can probably find out who I am by calling the entry that says "Home" or "Mom&Dad" stored in my cell.

LOL! You've put the cart before the horse. IMHO, you shouldn't
be kidnapped unless they already know who to call to get a ransom.
