Make sure your cat has a rabies vaccination. They are much more likely to catch a carrier than a dog.
***The rabies virus can infect any mammal. Birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish can not transmit rabies. ***
And remember that bats are mammals.
It does drastically reduces the feral cat population, however, and does reduce the possibility of transmission within that reduced population since many of the cats will be vaccinated. A rabies vaccination, regardless of its labelled time frame, is effective for 3 years, which is longer than the average life span of a feral cat.
The kitten I got for my grandkids jumps into the bath with them. He especially enjoys playing with the bubbles. I have never seen a cat do such.
Wild! Our cat, in her last months, liked to lie in the bathtub, and would howl at the bathroom door if it was closed ... but she didn't want water in the tub!
Sheesh, I hope they don't bury THAT in the sandbox!
OOOOO....this is not good.

Good one. Cat's don't like being on a leash. As soon as I saw the leash wrapping around that guy's leg I knew it could not have a good ending.
"The kitten I got for my grandkids jumps into the bath with them."
We once adopted a precious little Chartreux kitten from a shelter in Dallas. She was the silliest water girl I've ever known. She 'attended' all baths, and frequently tried to step over onto whoever was having a soak. She also played in my guy's shaving water, loved to drink out of water faucets, and when all else failed she'd sit in empty bathroom sinks and admire herself in the mirror.
She grew out of the idea of stepping into the tub, but all of the other behaviors stayed with her throughout her long life.
Hope someone is taking pictures of Christmas kitty's antics. The water photos we have of Miss Blue are absolute treasures!
I don't think even this handsome fellow would be a match for a rabid cat.
That's a good start, but they need to keep trapping them and give them rabies shots every three years.
Our half-Korat loves to help with showers. He's always trying to get in, and once you get out he'll rub on your ankles so much he dries them for you.
Since we got him from a litter born at my MIL's, we get to see his relatives as well. His mother (the fullblooded Korat) couldn't care less about showers...but many of the half and quarter blood descendants go crazy for it like he does.
That is mean. Spay, neuter, and adopt is a much better solution. Ignorant owners are the problem, not the poor cats.
I believe the cat would drown.
I remember this one from some TV show back in 98..and its still hilarious. Love it when he says "He's a very loving cat.."
You can get waterless cleaners. Spray the cloth and rub the cat . They work pretty well.
