By the way I found you on Mike Reed's list of flame warriors.

Eagle Scout is a positive, constructive Warrior who endeavors to submit original articles which contain useful content and relevant information with supporting citations and links, thus initiating meaningful discussion threads. Eagle Scout regards the internet as an uplifting, egalitarian, worldwide arena for the exchange of ideas among intelligent, thinking individuals. He does not openly attack, but will (ever tactfully) chastise disruptive comments, gratuitous insults and cretinous insipidity. He is always kind and helpful to Newbie, and will shrug off even the most egregious insults.

Yep that is you to the T.

I was just teasing. It wasn't intentional, honest!

But there's the mad scientist flipside, don't forget.
Always willing to perform hideous experiments on the klewless noobs that fall into the category of 'troll'.

The bushy eyebrows and the crooked grin are disconcerting.

Replace the bottle with a souped up electric test subject motivator, er, cattle prod and it is correct.

That's very flattering, but I wear glasses.

No, really, thanks a lot. It's often tempting, when someone gets a little hostile, to flare up right back at them. I don't think that really helps.

Instead, I try to slip on their shoes for a bit, see if there's any common ground, or whether we can reach an accommodation. Most times it's just best to agree to disagree.

One of my earliest taglines was, "I wouldn't be judgmental, if people weren't so Stupid!" It still holds true.

As to my flipside, Darks, I have that fairly well documented, but not very many people have bought my book.

"Give me a synopsis, what's this thread about now?"

The most momentous event of recent date is the birth of Tax-Chick's baby, Daniel Edmond. We've been following Mom and Baby for some time now.

As far as the thread goes, a few months ago, we sent an expedition to the Moon, to test our Gas-Cooled Nuclear Reactor/Rocket Engines. We left some robots and a Science Module.

Then on December 27th, we blasted off from our ocean site near Eniwetok Atoll, circled Earth a few times and then went alarmingly close to the Moon on a flyby. After gaining a bit of momentum from that maneuver, we turned and went past the Moon again, to correct our angle of trajectory toward Mars.

We should arrive at the Martian orbit in late April. Until then we're just rotating our three habitat masses around the central Thrust Ring, and going through our daily activities as if we were still on Earth, except at only .34 gravities.

You can catch these links on my about page. I've also posted links to the Original Undead Thread, the Bride of the Undead Thread, and all their Undead Spawn.

Also on my about page is a description of a visit to the Flying Castle which is excerpted from a future book. It is listed as "Chapter Seventeen," and it gives a first-person description of seeing the "Flying Castle" in space!

We talked about cheese waaaay early, when we were deciding what we needed to take into space with us.

So we set up a whole ecology, and took darn near everything with us. We have farm animals, fish, grainfields, orchards, hydroponics bays, manufacturing facilities, housing, entertainment, weather, ... I'm pretty sure I forgot Boysenberries, though.

Indeed. But I confess to using bad grammar now and again, both accidentally and on purpose. LOL!
