Clooney to revive 80s tv icon (Hollywood outdoes itself ruining Magnum PI)

George Clooney is being hotly-tipped to play Magnum PI in a new movie.

Film bosses believe the handsome star would be perfect as the suave private investigator, played by Tom Selleck in the classic TV show.

A source is quoted in Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying:

"He is a big fan of the original series. The part is his if he wants it." Meanwhile, George - who split from on/off girlfriend Lisa Snowdon last year - recently revealed he thinks 2006 will be the year he settles down.

The 44-year-old heartthrob - renowned for keeping his romantic life under wraps - said: "I want to be married with six kids this year. I want six little sextuplets around."

The star also admitted he believes in love at first site, saying: "It happened to my parents. My dad asked my mum on a date and asked her to marry him immediately.

"They're still together so I know love at first sight can work."

I only keep the Encore movie package because I love the Western Channel

I kept what I needed to watch NASCAR, the various science and documentary channels, cable news, and stuff like that, plus Encore.

You tell me there aren't any original screenplay writers out there with new ideas?

Sure there are. The problem is that, when it comes to forking out $30 million of studio money, executives would rather bet on the surer thing that a "pre-sold" title brings. They look at the long list of (financially if not artistically) successful movies that have been made from old TV shows and decide that's a smarter way to go than taking a chance on something that has no existing awareness in the public mind.

Oh, no. I can't stand him.

I don't think he's smart or good looking.

There are plenty of brilliant writers all over Hollywood. What's missing are heads of studios that can read scripts and recognize a great story. All the studios are now run by deal-makers/ex-agents...no creative people.

Yes, we have Crossfire Trail, another wonderful movie that we enjoy often! However, Alan Rickman is the better villain, IMO, though Mark Harmon is downright SCARY as a bad guy, isn't he??

Have you ever seen Ruby Jean and Joe, about an old broken-down rodeo cowboy and a hitchhiker? I'd never heard of it until my dad, an ol' cowboy and Selleck fan, recommended it. It's probably his favorite movie. I love it, too. It's just as sweet as can be, and a 100 percent Tom Selleck-kind-of-movie.

Yes, George will play Magnum P.I. and Michael Moore will play Higgins. The movie will be directed by Steven "Mr. Feelings" Spielberg and will be shot in Alaska which will be made to look like Hawaii. There will be terrorists but they will be the good guys that deliver the pizzas (between kidnappings, murdering and beheadings) to Higgins. A special Domino's Pizza car will be blown up with children in it so that real reality (the message of the movie) is conveyed. Mr. Feelings will also have his wife and children shoot dead in real life to heighten the dramatic effect, which might actually win him an Oscar. Special guest appearance by Snoop Doggy, Zarqawi and OBL make it a very special message to America.

That would be "Spenser: For Hire". Spelled like the poet. Sorry, just a big fan of the books and that part always sticks in my mind.
