Clooney to revive 80s tv icon (Hollywood outdoes itself ruining Magnum PI)
Tonight ^ | January 26, 2006

George Clooney is being hotly-tipped to play Magnum PI in a new movie.

Film bosses believe the handsome star would be perfect as the suave private investigator, played by Tom Selleck in the classic TV show.

A source is quoted in Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying:

"He is a big fan of the original series. The part is his if he wants it." Meanwhile, George - who split from on/off girlfriend Lisa Snowdon last year - recently revealed he thinks 2006 will be the year he settles down.

The 44-year-old heartthrob - renowned for keeping his romantic life under wraps - said: "I want to be married with six kids this year. I want six little sextuplets around."

The star also admitted he believes in love at first site, saying: "It happened to my parents. My dad asked my mum on a date and asked her to marry him immediately.

"They're still together so I know love at first sight can work."

Since this story was deemed not important enough for current news, I thought you might like to be appraised of it.

I wish you'd waited until after I ate.

I wasn't saying Magnum was cheesy. I just meant that shows such as the Dukes of Hazzard and Miami Vice don't need to be remade into bad movies.

Great!
Take notes, could be used in a documentary on how to take a successful idea and crush it into absolute drek.

Can you believe Tom Selleck will turn 61 this coming Sunday?! He was born January 29, 1945. Wow, but the passage of time sure has a way of smacking us upside the head every now and again.

Re Magnum the movie, any word on which major male character will be turned into a swishy girly man? Hollyweird has to have at least one in every film these days. Maybe they will have Higgins and Magnum getting it on. (Barf!)

The heck with the terrorism threats.............THIS really upsets me!!!!!! LOL

Selleck has always been one of my favorites. Haven't been to a movie in years and this is another reason not to go.

I guess Alec Baldwin was unavailable.

Maybe they couldn't find a big enough Hawiian shirt. Have you seen Baldwin lately? He's got Chris Penn disease.

LOL What did you expect when you throw up a thread indirectly concerning Selleck who had the best legs of any man I've ever seen? Not to mention dimples, dry humor, killer smile (fanning self now)
But I understand. You had just come from peyton randolph's post (with pics) #56. :o)

WHAT? George Clooney in a Tigers' baseball cap doesn't work.

Clooney fits in more as Higgins than Magnum.

Tall, dark-hair, handsome and sexy and he wears his dimples well.

This is an older picture, but it was fun to GIS for him.
