Comedy Central Censored Mohammed
I'm not sure if it's been reported yet, but for what it's worth, I just got off the phone with a Comedy Central spokesman. I asked him about last night's episode of South Park in which, at a moment right before the prophet Mohammed was supposed to make a cameo, the words, "Comedy Central has refused to broadcast an image of Mohammed on their network" appeared on the screen.
I asked him whether this truly was Comedy Central's decision or whether this was just another gag (with South Park, you never know). He said:
They reflected it accurately. That was a Comedy Central decision.

ping
South Park was censored for images of the child-humping pervert? But not for their usual fare? WTF?????
Was the the episode that rips Bush? I didn't see it, anyone? Was it good? They are equal opportunity bashers, and are usually funny. I am still hooting over the episodes about Hybrid cars.. "THAAAAaaaankssss"...
Comedy Central pussed out...
Honestly, I can understand a network not wanting to deal with these whackos.
I saw that episode - Mohammed was definitely a character. Are you saying that they removed the image after the first airing?
Christians don't issue fatwas.
Dude, it was done in parody. You should have looked at the episode first to realise the message. If you did, you would have thought it was a fitting description of our child killing oil bearing friends in the eastern desert.
Durka Durka...
So does this mean the "Super Best Friends" episode (featuring Muhammed as one of the SBF) will never ever be seen again on CC?
First they pull an episode for the catholics, the scientologists, then the muslims, and pretty soon it's off the air...
They didn't have a problem with images of mohammad in the past. I guess a bunch of rioting pagan tribesmen can scare TV execs.
I do. My First Official fatwa is such: Mohammed was a child-humping pervert. There ya go.
Well, this answers the question a lot of us had last night. I say we all get on the phone with Comedy Central and ask them why it's OK to show images of Jesus and the flag getting crapped on but not OK to show Molestin' Mo.
Censored for Mo-ham-head ping.
"Good fer yeeeewwww!"
Funny thing, no one minded when Mohammed was a super hero, along with Jesus, Buddha, and Moses.
I can't say that a blame them.
From every other group all they can expect are letters and angry phone calls.
From Muslims, they can expect some whacko to show up at the Comedy Central office wearing explosives.
Unless some smart TV station pick SP up.
Who owns Spike TV?
I'm sure we could do with out wild police cases for a night.
P*ssies.
