Syndicated talk show host Phil Hendrie will broadcast his radio show for the last time tonight.

Funny guy, people get sucked into arguments without realizing he's also playing the other caller that's ticked them off.

Usually get his broadcasts in mp3 and listen to them.

It's amazing that people will try to logically argue with what appears to be an idiot.

Consider yourself lucky. His show consisted of his playing the part of some outrageous guest and then "interviewing" the guest to field calls from duped listeners. It was extremely lame.

If it's true that he's dropping the show to concentrate on a TV career, I just hope he made the right decision. His radio show was unique - now he'll be one among many.

I used to listen to him in the evenings before my son was old enough to drive and I had to take him to ballgames.

I'd heard he was too good for radio and was going to TV. I actually thought he was brilliant, but I just lost track of him after my son got his drivers license.

The man is a genius. I wonder how he is able to hold a flawless conversation between several of his own personas and callers. Having confessed his brilliance, I never listen to him for more than a few minutes. His style of humor takes advantage of the gullibility and self rightuous indignation of dimwits. Not funny to me. Can't say that I will miss him. His work is troubling and pointless.
Or, perhaps my puritanical viewpoint is too shallow to appreciate him. Perhaps he is a social commentarian of such depth, wisdom and satire that his work is beyond me. Dunno. What do you think, Amos?

In 2003 he said he was a democrat, voting for Bush because Kerry et.al. were a bunch of jack@sses. He was a kind of Zell Miller, in his own way.

He had great voice control, and usually was pretty funny. It was a nice break from the normal serious talk of the day, though not to everybody's taste.

I think that's my biggest gripe with his "schtick" and methods: I listen, I invest my time in trying to hear REAL NEWS and information I can't get on the ABBCNNBCBS and the REAL VIEWS of the liebrals who populate (too much) of our politics.

I really don't want to waste time listening somebody pretending to play both sides of the conversation with me.
