U.S.-Mexico merger opposition intensifies
World Net Daily ^ | July 9, 2006 | Joseph Farah

Posted on 07/10/2006 5:51:15 AM PDT by brain bleeds red

WASHINGTON – Are secret meetings being held between the corporate and political elites of the U.S., Mexico and Canada to push North America into a European Union-style merger?

Is President Bush's reluctance to control the border and enforce laws requiring deportation of foreigners who enter the country illegally part of a master plan to all but eliminate borders between the U.S., Canada and Mexico?

Does the agenda of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America include a common currency that would scrap the dollar in favor of what some are calling the "amero"?

It may be the biggest story of the 21st century, but few press outlets are telling it. In fact, until very recently, few in the U.S. were aware of the plans and even fewer denouncing what appears to be the implementation of an effort some have characterized as "NAFTA on steroids."

But opposition is mounting.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1660577/posts I am the one who warned of the cleanup crew. They are in here. Those who come to scream others opinions down and downplay anything that does not fit their agenda. WND can read like the Enquirer sometimes.

Thanks for the Reagan quote. It offers some comfort knowing that even Reagan could see wisdom in forming strong friendships with our border neighbors. Yea, I am concerned were this sort of alliance can go in the long run, but if we are talking about erasing borders and merging the countries into one trust me, it won't be happening under the Bush presidency, or even the next president or even maybe the one after that.
The blogosphere (non existent during your Reagan quote) is in my opinion spreading false rumors that Bush has turned into some diabolical monster out to erase our borders. Even my very Republican, conservative and well educated neighbor sends me 2-4 e-mails a day about this evil Bush plot. A guy, who for the last two elections had Bush campaign signs in his yard, now has turned in to a Bush hater all because he believes every thing he reads on places like World Net Daily. I have tried to calm him a bit, and all I get the “your wrong, just go to this web site and read for yourself”. My post here I’m sure will have a few follow-ups telling me the same.

There is a Council on Foreign Relations. They have called for the "establishment by 2010 of a North American economic and security community" with a common "outer security perimeter."

By developing methods of working closely together, we will lay the foundations for future cooperation on a broader and more significant scale. We will put to rest any doubts of those cynical enough to believe that the United States would seek to dominate any relationship among our three countries, or foolish enough to think that the governments and peoples of Canada and Mexico would ever permit such domination to occur. I for one, am confident that we can show the world by example that the nations of North America are ready, within the context of an unswerving commitment to freedom, to see new forms of accommodation to meet a changing world. A developing closeness between the United States, Canada and Mexico would serve notice on friends and foe alike that we were prepared for a long haul, looking outward again and confident of our future; that together we are going to create jobs, to generate new fortunes of wealth for many and provide a legacy for the children of each of our countries. Two hundred years ago, we taught the world that a new form of government, created out of the genius of man to cope with his circumstances, could succeed in bringing a measure of quality to human life previously thought impossible.

Now let us work toward the goal of using the assets of this continent, its resources, technology, and foodstuffs in the most efficient ways possible for the common good of all its people. It may take the next 100 years but we can dare to dream that at some future date a map of the world might show the North American continent as one in which the people's commerce of its three strong countries flow more freely across their present borders than they do today.

Ronald Reagan - November 13, 1979

Let me quote another great American for you:

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American ...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag ...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language ... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Theodore Roosevelt 1907

I don't know, there are a lot of references to MANY organizations, papers, structures. Do you have any evidence these are false rumors?

and all I get the “your wrong, just go to this web site and read for yourself”. My post here I’m sure will have a few follow-ups telling me the same.

I won't tell you you're wrong if you're not. All I care about is what the truth to this matter is. If you have evidence debunking this as a plot designed to frame Bush as a "diabolical monster", please present it.

Well, at least someone is not a delusional, paranoid, flaming kook.

Yes, I also have a few friends like that and I rarely bother bother trying to "dekook" them anymore. It amounts to an intellectual level equivalent to talking to your typical homeless wino on the street. They display they same level of rational thought.

That's exactly right...exactly what you are doing. Somewhere, earlier in this thread, we were warned about this 'cleanup crew' method of debate. You've been nailed, dude.

Cleanup crew, perhaps? I'm not a Bush-hater. I agree with him on almost everything except the borders and him being too soft sometimes. But simply calling somebody names seems a little weak to me.

No it doesn't, that's the problem. Some of this stuff gets debunked again and again and again, and yet it keeps popping up like a monster in some teen horror flick. Some people just need to have a bogeyman. Then there are the others who feed this stuff to the aforementioned types, usually to sell books, or subscriptions to something, or to keep their 15 minutes of fame going, Cindy Sheehan like.

You had your chance for that and chose otherwise. You said "There are some undeniable facts here" and I asked you "Specifically which ones?" and you did not reply, so what more do you want?

I must have missed it when the CFR was given the power to do anything. Perhaps you have a link describing their Constitutional authority?

Even if I tried to follow the convoluted logic that led to the justification of your gutter-style conversational tactics, I already mentioned some facts if you'll go back and look. I will try to mention more, but the fact is I'm not trying to convince anybody of anything. If it is genuinely fake, by all means I am open to information as I asked here:

this stuff gets debunked again and again and again Any links?

This seems to be the question you are avoiding..

The "Building a North American Community" report, which was produced by a Council of Foreign Relations-sponsored task force, not the US government.

LOL!
