I don't follos soccer = I don't follow soccer

Your English looks pretty good to me, BTW.

Calcio.

It sickened me how your countrymen BLOCKED TRAFFIC on 6th Avenue in Manhattan waving a FOREIGN flag and screaming in Italian (a language not meant to be screamed, per my Nonno).

Nevertheless, congratulations to all Italians on their victory over Les Bleus. Now we Americans can concentrate on baseball and (in a month and a half) American football.

what about the Chicago White Sox?!! 19 innings---talk about OVERTIME!

They didn't stop after 11 innings and decide the game with a home run derby?

No offense, but the only only reason why I clicked on this thread was to see if there were any photos of young Italian women celebrating.

BTW, thank you for saving us from four years of gloating frenchmen.

A picture I can't see enough of.

Don't tell anyone, but I liked france's style of play better. They actually seemed to want to score rather than playing entirely to keep the opponent from scoring. If only it weren't france doing it.

Ciao bellezza!

Auguri!

'Campioni del mondo' mi pare un po esaggerato, ma insomma ....

Our household does not usually follow soccer, so when my 15-year old, who was watching, asked me who I was hoping to win, I had to ask who was playing. When I heard who the 2 teams were, I immediately told him to cheer for the Italians!!!!

Congrats and enjoy!

A hearty congratulations to a hardworking, tenacious Italian team. They were flagging toward the end, no doubt, but they held on despite the head-butts and the butt-heads. Their goalkeeper should have his salary doubled just for that beautiful save from Zidane's kick.

Salud!

PARIS, July 10 (Reuters) - France greeted its beaten World Cup team with tears and cheers on Monday as the nation struggled to understand what prompted their midfield maestro Zinedine Zidane to head butt a player in the World Cup final.

President Jacques Chirac paid handsome tribute to the disgraced French football captain, despite the shock red card, and several thousand French fans gathered in central Paris to welcome home the weary World Cup finalists

ROFLMAO!

Hooray for Italy!

In that case, it's only surprising he didn't blow himself up.

I agree. What a ridiculous offsides call to rob the Italians of a goal.

Yeah, now all the emphasis is on the penalty kicks, and people just call them luck. It's a shame, but at least they won..although the French did look real good in the 2nd half.

"Who doesn't jump is a French!"

This has the makings of another MAJOR Free Republic craze-line!!!

Like "all your base are belong to us!" and "hugh and series" and "stuned beebers" and other extremely annoying FR crazes!

(and one of the reasons I still tune into my favorite website, by the way!)

Congratulations Italy! In addition to having the best soccer team, you have the best motorcycles - Ducati and the best car - Ferrari.

Soon, there is also a very good chance there will be a President of the United States of Italian decent.
