Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Prayers for you and your cat, but it just might be time for you to let her go. I know how much that hurts ( I still miss my kitty, a LOT, who died of cancer ), but your cat is 24 years old and NOT well.
I really don't think so. Please read Genesis 9:9-17 where God establishes a covenant not only with Noah, but with the animals as well. It might give you some comfort and lift your spirit a little.
The first chapter of Genesis reveals God blessing the animals after He creates them just as He blessed mankind after He created them. Although they are not created in the image of God as we are, they are certainly important enough to Him to bless them.

We have two cats now, but I still miss my beloved tabby Thomas, who we had to put down 8 years ago. He was my buddy during my life as a single.

In January 2005 we lost our beloved Camelot at the age of 20+. It was one of the hardest times we have ever gone through. There is such an empty spot, still, in our life.
Several months before Cammie died, a friend who breeds Maine Coon cats asked us to take one of her kittens who was very shy and easily frightened. She said she wanted him to go to a special home where he would be allowed to develop at his own pace. Reluctantly, we took him.
Over the next few months, the last months of our beloved Cammie's life, the kitten often made us smile through our tears.
Cammie was the consummate gentleman who was sensitive to our ever mood. He was the greatest comfort in my life. He was a brilliant "conversationalist" who understood every word we said to him. Cammie was self-effacing and clung to me as though his life depended on it.
This goofy kitten is a jerk who always makes an ass of himself. He has become a self-indulgent spoiled brat; however, if I have been out of the room he runs to greet me. The kitten will never be Camelot but he has great potential to become one of the best cats we have ever had. He made the transition that I had dreaded for years a little easier.
I have tears in my eyes as I type this. I cannot go to our little pet cemetery on the other side of the pond, shaded by a dogwood tree, without weeping.
We did not have Camelot euthanized. He had subcu fluids daily for six months and died in his little bed between our pillows where he always slept. He simply did not wake up one morning. Our vet and one of his vet techs [who came faithfully to see Cammie every day for six months] supported our decision.
I will not engage in any discussion about euthasia v. non-euthanasia. That is a very personal decision. You will know what is right for you and for Musica. We did what was right for us and for Camelot.
I did not want another cat, much less a kitten. I realize now that our kind friend did us a huge favor. The kitten did not replace Camelot ... and was never intended to do so. No other cat will ever replace, or mean as much to me as, our singular Camelot. Our hearts, though heavy, were big enough to take in a very needy kitten and we have been delighted with him.
During the final stages of my mother's Alzheimers, she asked me one day if I thought there would be cats and dogs in heaven. All I could think to tell her was ... "Of course, Mamma. Otherwise, how could it be 'raining cats and dogs'?"
You are in good company as you go through these end times with Musica. All I can think is what an extraordinary blessing it would have been for us to have had four more years with our Cammie. Bless you.

That is a long time for a kittycat to live. We nearly lost
ours a few months ago to liver failure and cost was no object (but he was only 4 years old).

How nice that you and Musica can be together, these last months, and that she will go with warmth and care after a long loving life.
After having our share of terrible tragedies with loved pets, there is nothing like being with your dear one as life slips away. Difficult? Yes. But your pet feels only your love. You will always have that knowledge.
Hopefully, Musica will be with you for a good while, but when it is her time, she will find her way to the Rainbow Bridge and join others as they wait.
Please give her a pat for me.

I'm very sorry to hear about your cat. We have a herd of them ourselves, and had to have one of them euthanized last year due to a brain tumor. He was a great cat and I miss him.
Some unsolicited advice for what it's worth: I didn't see that you had any other cats. I think cats are best had in herds or at least in twos. They really do seem to buck each other up. It sounds like you might be losing your one cat, but you'd be surprised at how they sometimes pull themselves together when other cats are around.
The thing that I've seen that is a real tragedy is when good owners of cats and dogs resolve to not have another one due to the pain they experienced when they lost their beloved animal. And at the same time, wonderful cats and dogs are being euthanized for no other reason than a lack of willing owners.
How many years of love do we get out of these creatures? The end of their lives is sheer hell for us, but how long does that last as compared to the years of love that we got? Love is ultimately worth it.
What a blessing to have Musica for so long. They become a huge part of our lives, and when they're gone, there's a massive hole that physically aches.
I understand what you're going through. We said a very heartbreaking goodbye to our kitty, MoMo, on June 15. She was with us for 10 short years, almost to the day. It's difficult to write this, even now. I cried for a week and only my husband understood. We asked each other the same as you - will God allow us to see her again - and we agreed, He will.

Years ago when I was a child I asked Mama if Kitty would go to Heaven.
She paused for a moment, and then said: "Why, what would Heaven be without Kitty?"
And I have never wondered about it since.
