DANGER DANGER DANGER
What a woman says she wants, and what she really wants, ARE TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT THINGS!
Not to mention what she needs as opposed to wants.
But that is another topic entirely.
To: Chanticleer
Not me, I would melt if I got a front loading, extra large washer and dryer. No one can tell the difference with simulated diamonds anymore anyway, and I'm not that much into the tv thing that I need a fancy one. I would also like some really nice (read pretty) riding gear for when I ride my dirt bike... :)

What's the big deal, if you buy a nice diamond for the lady, you only have to buy it once. I have a beauty and some day, it will be handed down to my daughter, grand daughter, etc. We have family heirlooms in our family, it is a really nice bit of history and tradition. Not to mention our garage is full of tools, the house is full of guns... what's wrong with getting the lady something she wants?

Fake diamonds look just as good, cost way less and you don't have a freak out if you lose them....
Plus, you have enough money left over for the TV :)

I don't know, I just have a problem blowing money on a useless hunk of carbon that will only be used as fealty to her and then as her trophy to show off to the other envious harpies at work.
To: Chanticleer
I'd rather have a really nice guitar or awholebuncha CDs and books than jewelry.
What does that make me, I wonder?

Though...I admit, I'm a sucker for dangly, beaded earrings. I wouldn't want anything super pricey, though. I'm really talented at losing 'em.
Harder to misplace musical instruments. Usually.

That reminds me, a piano would be nice. I'd be happy with a nice old-tech studio upright, but those new weighted-key digital pianos are pretty nice.

I have the answer -- bagpipes. You get bagpipes and learn to play them, and you'll have the joy of music.
Then maybe your neighbors will give you diamond jewelry to stop playing them. ;-)

a TELEVISION NETWORK finds that women really want TELEVISIONS rather than diamonds...
what a shock.
perhaps next Toyota will find women want Toyota's rather than diamonds.
perhaps next Prada will find women want Prada rather than diamonds.
This has zero credibility. ESPECIALLY since it is from the Oprah network.
