Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yeah weather's changin' here. Although we're not as prone to the dramatic/rapid changes as they are.

Good morning, HotD!
Gracious, Corin!! Sure glad your mom is ok!
Way to Go, Nano writers! Really, that is a sweet typewriter, Rosie! Love stuff like that. What's a Luddite, Precious?
Steve got home last night after an hour and a half...usually takes him about 25 minute at the most. It's hard to tell how much snow we actually got, it's so wind-blown. The snow fell sideways last night...it was amazing to watch. The wind just howled.
I'm guessing around 8".
Steve made it to work today without any trouble...the jedis have already played in it and are now doing there school. No "Snow Days" for homeschoolers! LOL!

What's a Luddite, Precious?Member of organized groups of early 19th-century English craftsmen who surreptitiously destroyed the textile machinery that was replacing them. The movement began in Nottingham in 1811 and spread to other areas in 1812. The Luddites, or Ludds, were named after a probably mythical leader, Ned Ludd. They operated at night and often enjoyed local support. Harsh repressive measures by the government included a mass trial at York in 1813 that resulted in many hangings and banishments. The term Luddite was later used to describe anyone opposed to technological change.

The Baby Poop VW color that I think most people think of is Shantung Yellow (L 12 D)...
There is also "Kansas Beige"...
Lemon Yellow
and Texas Yellow
I see a lot of Saturn Yellow Super Beetles...I find them a bit of an assault on the eyes.
Mine is Yukon Yellow (L 19 K)...
However, mine has faded quite a bit and is "now" what I consider a very pretty butter yellow. I'd just soon keep it that color, have it actually matched. But Steve is a purist and wants it put back to what the label says. "Yukon Gelb" as it says in German.

Ahhhh!
There are some aspects of myself that would be considered Ludditish, I gues...like my dislike for a car that when a domelight fuse blows, it won't shift out of first gear. Remember when that happened with my van? I was stuck at home for what? Two months? Because I thought it was my transmission.
I wanted to meet the rocket surgeon engineer that designed that aspect of my car and yank a good knot in his tail.
I believe that's what got me really seriously thinking about getting a old Beetle. I figured we could work on it ourselves at least and at least have a way to get around even if not too deluxe.

Could you tell me the first time I brought up buying a Beetle?
Just out of curiousity...

I gave up early :-P
Lessons learned, plot more in advance!
and
Have a story you actually WANT to write.
I know some people can pull it off without those...
not me I guess. I do plan to do more 'extra-nano' writing this year.
