Kitty Litter Cake -YUM

OR.. A MODIFICATION of book

How to Lose friends & Horrify people?

Thinking of LInda, and Marcia & Karen & Jean & others with Kitty rescue groups.. what a hoot to bring to the next meeting for refreshments.

Or Nancy Y..one of your catering gigs?

Or JohnW and Bill B how about your next singles meeting? Good way to guarantee you will REMAIN single!

Or maybe at our next potluck at Walton Hills Church of Christ.. They already think I am weird there. Might as well close the case. I want to try it!!!!

Is this worse than....DIRT...for dessert??? Thanks to FReeper friend Ray.. BADRAY..for sharing one of his favorite recipes –and what do you know we are posting a thread together of such political depth & savvy.

This is for all you cooks out there looking for something a little different.........YES! Your next political rally!

WANT TO HAVE FUN AT A PARTY? PREPARE THIS RECIPE! COMPLETELY EDIBLE,

On a recent visit to our veterinarian to get shots for our cat I found this recipe on the waiting room bulletin board. After recovering from hysterical laughter, I obtained a copy from the office staff so my wife could make it, which she refused to do. I took it to work and gave the recipe to a lady at work who loves cats. The pictures below show the results of her work. It doesn't look very nice, but it's actually quite tasty, so I decided to pass it along.

CAKE INGREDIENTS:

1 box spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 box of white cake mix
1 package white sandwich cookies
1 large package vanilla instant pudding mix
A few drops green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Rolls or equivalent

SERVING "DISHES AND UTENSILS"
1 NEW cat-litter box
1 NEW cat-litter box liner
1 NEW pooper scooper

1) Prepare and bake cake mixes, according to directions, in any size pan. Prepare pudding and chill. Crumble cookies in small batches in blender or food processor. Add a few drops of green food coloring to 1 cup of cookie crumbs. Mix with a fork or shake in a jar. Set aside.

2) When cakes are at room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with half of the remaining cookie crumbs and enough pudding to make the mixture moist but not soggy. Place liner in litter box and pour in mixture.

3) Unwrap 3 Tootsie Rolls and heat in a microwave until soft and pliable. Shape
the blunt ends into slightly curved points. Repeat with three more rolls. Bury the rolls decoratively in the cake mixture. Sprinkle remaining white cookie crumbs over the mixture, then scatter green crumbs lightly over top.

4) Heat 5 more Tootsie Rolls until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with crumbs from the "litter box". Heat the remaining Tootsie Roll until pliable and hang it over the edge of the box. Place box on a sheet of newspaper and serve with scooper. Enjoy!

For some reason it's the one flopped over the rim of the box that gives me the shiver-willies, LOL!

Very rarely do the hairballs show up "easy" .. pick off rug type

. They are like you say, in computer wires, on shoes, jewlery on dresser .. or any number of places for those of us that dont' put all away immediately!

This little guy wouldn't make poops that big!

Maybe I can divide the recipe, and make the cake with the little poops for a cozy dinner for two. I can see it now - candlelight, a fruity desert wine, and the baby cat poops cake.

I'm just *such* a romantic! :o)

Seriously, I had trouble with Red Velvet Cake. I had to close my eyes to eat it!

The poop draped over the side reminds me of my #1 cat, Natasha.

I'm so relieved to find out that I'm not the only one who lets things side a little! LOL!

I made it once for the birthday of a band member friend of my son. He had tattoos and a purple mohawk and decided it was the best birthday cake he had ever had. We have photos of it with our cat lurking nearby. LOL

Sprinkle some of the crumbs around the outside of the box for that just-right crunchy underfoot effect.

my dogs give it two paws up also.. mine would LOVE the cake, but unfortunately find the REAL liter box a feast area also. The vet says not to worry.. I guess I dont worry, but am not to excited about pup kisses afterwards.

They also seem to like deer poop. For them it is a hard choice.. do I roll in it or eat it.

That doesn't look very realistic. Could be done better.

Pardon me while I *gag*......:))

All I can think of is kids seeing this and then later chowing down on the *real* thing!
Does anybody else remember the "Gummi Worms 'N Dirt" they used to sell?
Now *that* was a good thing to condition your kids to be eating.....LOL!

You are not gonna believe this website;

Yes....the bugs are *real*!

It used to be "How many licks til ya got to the middle of a Tootsie Pop" and now it's 'how many licks til ya get to the juicy larvae'.

Yikes!

The only unsavoury thing my dogs look at is goat and bunny poop which makes perfect sense since hoofed mammals and rabbits are two of their historic prey items.

As gross as it sounds to us, wild canids *first* eat the stomach contents of their kill to benefit from the vegetable matter and enzymes.
So...I went out and got the kids Pedigree Chicken, Vegetables & Rice to add to their usual Nutro Lamb & Rice food.

Hopefully they'll stop stalking the goats, now....:))

"I just report the facts, people...."

Yeah...sure...and you do it with such savage glee!....LOL!
