The homo slant is because Haggard was extremely active against homosexual rights. That he was found to have engaged in homosexual sex is the very definition of irony. It's the irony that is really news here.

Stand and watch: God is going to work this for good when Ted Haggard gets the help he needs.
Exactly -- this news won't make people who wanted to vote Republican now vote for Democrats. But it will make people rethink those anti-gay marriage/civil union amendments around the country, and they should rethink them.
After all, if it weren't for the climate of hate toward gays (let alone for gay acts) in the Christian world, Haggard might not have ever even married a woman. And then this whole shenanigan wouldn't even be a problem, since he then wouldn't be cheating on a wife and mother of his children with guys! All that sexual repression is no good for that guy's mind, I'm sure, and it's no good for that family, or for the church to which he preaches anti-gay rhetoric all the time.

Well put. The Democrats think the voters are idiots. Well the ones that vote for them are, at least.

You have it in reverse. Hating the sin is not hating the sinner. Otherwise, we would all be doomed!
