"Tony McDonald, a member of the University of Texas Young Conservatives, sets up a protest anti- American Civil Liberties Union nativity scene, dubbed a 'solstice barn,' on the university's campus in Austin December 4, 2006. The display features a 'Nancy Pelosi' angel, a 'suicide bomber' shepherd, and Marx, Lenin and Stalin as the Three Wise Men." "Josh Perry, a member of the University of Texas Young Conservatives, spreads hay as he sets up a protest anti-American Civil Liberties Union nativity scene, dubbed a 'solstice barn,' on the university's campus in Austin, Texas December 4, 2006. The display features a 'Nancy Pelosi' angel, a 'suicide bomber' shephard, and Marx, Lenin and Stalin as the Three Wise Men."

I'm not mad at them at all. I assume they have the University's permission to do what they're doing, and college is the place for these types of expression, rather than on the front lawns of the corporations they hope to work for when they graduate.
(And when has the ACLU supported suicide bombers? You'll have to link me to that case).
clever!
Liberals make excuses for suicide bombers.
This display makes fun of liberals.
Get it?
That's certainly a better explanation.
Thanks for the link to the opinion piece.

She either doens't get it, or she doesn't want to.
I have already responded to his post to me, because I did not, in fact, get what he was saying the first time. Try to keep up with the rest of the group.
Poof! Begone!
Bye bye.
Excellent pic! Thanks for posting it.
There were links, with an 's', and most were newspieces. But I suppose you are not interested in taking off your ACLU kneepads.
It is the best laugh I have gotten so far today. Thanks!
I saw a link to townhall, an opinion site; if there were others I did not see them.
The kneepads remark is low class, as I'm sure you're aware.
Wow! Your magic powers are.... well, nonexistent. :)
Austin [where UT is located] is a STAUNCHLY liberal haven. It shows great promise - if the University lets the display remain - that Young Conservatives have a voice there at all.
That said, I can understand your revulsion at the spirit in which this display has been erected. I'm not sure I can look beyond that, either.
"(And when has the ACLU supported suicide bombers? You'll have to link me to that case)."
Wasn't that nutjob Professor who said the terrorists should be applauded defended by the ACLU? I think this must be a direct reference to that.
As I said, I assume the students have University permission, and I have no problem with that. I just think it's jejune, but college is a good time to exercise that in a harmless fashion. I just found the "suicide bomber shepherds" to be in questionable taste, so of course I'm being accused of being a major ACLU supporter. It would be nice if some people could see in colors, and not just black and white. ;-D
The link was a search result of ACLU and Terrorist. It produced as numerous links. How you could see only one is beyond me.

Your flippant responses and unending defense of the ACLU somewhat warranted it, but you are correct in the comment went too far. You ask for information, someone posts it and you don't bother to really look at it. You know how the ACLU constantly defends terrorists and attacks the policies of this country in defending against terrorist threats. You are being very disingenuous in acting naive.
I didn't see any accusations. I'm merely trying to understand the 'message' they're attempting to invoke. And clearly, I celebrate their vigilance in that staunchly liberal environment.
