NEW YORK (Reuters) - An animal rights group on Friday accused Macy's of selling a coat with a real animal fur collar even though it was advertised as fake fur.
The Humane Society of the United States said a $237.99 Sean John Hooded Snorkel Jacket for sale on Macy's Web site was described as having an "imitation rabbit fur collar."
But the group said when it purchased the coat, the label read "Made in China" and "genuine raccoon fur." The group said it is testing the fur to see if it is from a raccoon dog, a type of dog raised in China whose fur resembles that of a raccoon.

Or, it's cat fur ~ yeah, that's it ~ cat fur.
I love furs and leather. The power of wearing a dead animals skin on my body is empowering and really sexy. It makes me the victor over nature.
Faux Fake Critter Fur!
The world is coming to an end.
The real scandal is Macy's selling something made in China...
This has to be a first in history. If true, selling real fur as fake fur is a first. Second, complaining that you got real fur INSTEAD of fake fur is another first.
In this culture, the inmates are running the asylum.
Recently, I caught heck from a PETA Freeper Freak for daring to suggest eating vension with mashed potatoes. One can only imagine how the PETA freaks feel about Eskimos.
CLOTHING: Animal skins provided clothing for the Eskimos; their favorite was caribou because it was warm and lightweight. Lacking caribou they would settle for seal, polar bear, or even Arctic fox. Styles varied from area to area, but in all regions everyone wore the same combination: a hooded jacket, trousers or leggings, socks, boots, and mittens. Sometimes goggles made from wood or bone were worn. In winter two sets of clothes were used. The inner layer would have fur next to the skin. The second layer would have fur on the outside. Air between the two layers helped keep body heat in and allowed perspiration to evaporate. A single layer was enough during summers.
FOOD: The cold waters of the Arctic provided the Eskimos with a great deal of their food. They lived on seals (the single most important part of their diet), salmon, cod, whales, and other sea life. On land were caribou and geese in the summer. (You had to go inland to find caribou.) During the winter they hunted polar bears, foxes, and hares. Their favorite foods were seal and caribou meat, walrus liver, and the skin of whales.
SHELTER: In order to find those animals, it was necessary for the Eskimos to live a wandering life, following their migrations. Generally, they would have a summer home and a winter home. Tents made of skin (seal or caribou) provided shelter during the summer months.
Offline now at Macy's site.
I have simpler requirements. I'll settle for a good steak with onions and garlic.
" They lived on seals ..."
I hope that this is still true today !
Yep, eating them is fantastic also.
My two cents:
I would only shoot what I intend to use. I wouldn't shoot an animal simply for the sake of killing it.
On the other hand, I think PETA would be happy if we turned into some cannabalistic society.
Although it seems we have some of those traits already.
When our sons completed their hunter safety courses, they were told by my wife and I, "Hunting game, the taking of game, proper care of downed game, and cooking of the game is part of hunting."
If you shoot it, you will eat it. So think about what you shoot before you shoot it. If you don't plan to eat it, don't shoot it.
It's so hip for some cosmopolitanite to presume that have the insight to tell folks what they need to do, those who have survived quite well for millennia without outside help.
Liberal are a paradox; I suppose acceptable cultures must be run through some board of directors before they gain "politically correct" status.

If PETA could only catch an animal claiming that its fur is faux fur, but is really real fur from another species. You may relax over the holidays, as I am in the woods checking this out and will report back to this space with my field data.
Fake, but real...
