This might also have something to do with the fact that you're a cheating machine. You're just not the type of person to make long-term commitments. This test is actually based on the Myers-Briggs personality profile that was all the rave back in the late '70s, early '80s.

I was a rock solid ISTJ then and I'm the same on this little test.

When I was with IBM and MCI, they would make all us managers take the Myers-Briggs and that would determine who we were paired with at the office. Totally BS concept. My boss was an ENFP and I couldn't stand the little prick!

That's an interesting test, but the questions are kind of troubling.

"Do you often think outside the box?" A lot of people who answer "yes" to that question, probably don't, while some who have trouble answering may be pretty far outside all possible boxes. In other words, people choose flattering answers that may not reflect who they really are.

Also the questions may not be quite in the language a person is used to. Neither option may really fit somebody's experience. Sometimes, "Both" or "Neither" or "Sort of" or "Huh?" is the best answer one can give.

A question like "Which do you prefer: Lost or Desperate Housewives is a lot easier to answer. Make a test out of questions like that and you'd have a valuable diagnostic tool.

But golly, it looks like they got me right: "Throughout the entire test, I bet you were searching for "further clarification and hidden meaning" so that you might improve your pitiful life." Wow!

And how could that question be answered by someone who doesn't watch TV and doesn't even know what either of these is? The best part of this test is that it allows to leave the questions like this unanswered, and rolls through instead of insisting on an answer.

Which is why I considered it to be total BS. Big companies were actually making hiring/promotion decisions based on this test.

I didn't see it again after about the mid '80s.
