Those of us who were born height challenged find ourselves using a step ladder to reach the top shelf.

This is a ladder for painting baseboard.
To: gate2wire
It looks just like the step ladder I have at home and I'm not painting any baseboards. Guess it's a ladder of many uses ;-)
To: girlscout
When I painted, that's what I would sit on to paint baseboard. Otherwise, I never used that size ladder. :-)
To: Deguello

Noted.

D59, this is, by far, and bar none, the best topic on ladders that has ever appeared on FR. Ladders have played such an important role in the development and maintenance of civilization that I'm going to send this out to the entire GGG list. Thanks for posting it.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
To all -- please ping me to other topics which are appropriate for the GGG list. Thanks. Please FREEPMAIL me if you want on or off the

Firefighters spend one whole day learning to handle and use ladders. You might say it's their "Ladder Day Saints" training segment.

I watched in horror as I told my wife to "do it yourself" about hanging a picture and she took a hammer and "drove" the screw into the wall.
I laughed so hard and so did she because he remodeled a powder room all by herself when I wouldn't do it. She did an awesome job, but used the screw and hammer incident to remind me that she is still a girl at heart.
The remodel she did included paint, fixtures, hanging pictures and a light fixture. Her dad (an electrical engineer) talked her through the light fixture over the phone.

Use a ladder?
You bet! I'm terrified of heights, but I don't trust my husband to do as good a paint job as I do! And I can wallpaper, too.
He still changes the lightbulbs, though. I won't get on a ladder if he can do it. haha
To: Fiddlstix
You can't prove that.
