The Hobbit Hole XXXIII - And the brook that leaps from hill to plain...

Posted on 03/08/2007 2:40:27 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

I've had kefir - got it from Whole Foods and the local grocery chain in CO. Don't know that I've seen it here.

I like that it has a nice bite to it - bit more than yogurt.

I wondered if you were using the milk from the dairy. Do you notice much of a difference with that?

Bet it would make good pancakes...may have to try that sometime...

I was thinking 300 in IMAX might be a little TOO much. The reviews make me think, "Sin City of the Ancient World". ;o)

Joseph and I watched a History Channel show called "Last Stand of the 300" last night, and it was pretty good. If I had ever studied anything about the Battle of Thermopylae in school, I'd forgotten it long ago, so it was kind of neat learning about it.

Oh cool! We don't have ours set up to burn to a hard drive. We just have the DVR we got from DISH Network, and when it gets filled up, we have to dump some old stuff to make room for the new.

Mine can record up to 200 hours worth of programming...20 different programs.

It cost an ever-lovin' fortune, but I'm thinking it's gonna be worth it in the long run. The hard part was hooking it up to my archaic TV!

For anyone that has not seen this breaking news. The DC circuit court of appeals has just ruled that the DC ban on handgun ownership is unconstitutional and they directly ruled that the 2nd amendment applies to an individuals right to bear arms and not only to militias. This is a huge ruling. Possibly a massive turning point in the handling of the second amendment. It could expose a large number of gun laws to being overturned on these grounds.

That awful sound!
Bang, bang!
My baby shot me down ...!

Did the Supremes do that also?

Cher recorded it, as well as Nancy Sinatra. It was written by Sonny Bono.

No kidding. If the Supremes don't take the case then it stands in our favor. Should be interesting.

Heh, even I can tell Nancy Sinatra and ABBA apart. But only if you tell me "this is either Nancy Sinatra or ABBA". Or "This is either the Rolling Stones or ABBA," or "The Beatles or ABBA". I could get those too.

Hah! Only because you have a lot of ABBA on your ipod from me. Did you know that ABBA had not done that song? Do you recognize that song?

No, I don't recognize the song. And I knew ABBA before that... I didn't listen to them but even I picked up a few things just by being alive. Like "Dancing Queen".

Uh huh. So you knew Nancy Sinatra did not do Dancing Queen.
