The Dragonflies' Lair ~ Thread XXXIX~ June ~ July~ August
Poets of The Dragonflies' Lair | June 19, 2007 | Soaring Feather

My Dragonfly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

I like the subtle comment of the cups.

Yes, and the eyes all blinking at different times. Really good timing.

I’ve tried all kinds of coffees at all prices, but Maxwell House Columbian’s taste has a clarity to it that I like.

Oh gorgeous flower and presentation. My goodness that is lovely.

Well, Meg, all, since 2:45pm today we have had a four hard thunder and lightning and rain storms, one tornado warning, canceled, and now we have another thunder storm going on - so I have to go. Dang, hope this does not go on all night.

See you later, I hope.

The Platters Lyrics - Twilight Time Lyrics

Artist: The Platters Lyrics
Song: Twilight Time Lyrics

Heavenly shades of night are falling
It's twilight time
Out of the mist your voice is calling
It's twilight time
When purple colored curtains
Mark the end of the day
I hear you my dear at twilight time

Deepening shadows gather splendor
As day is done
Fingers of night will soon surrender
The setting sun
I count the moments darling
Till you're here with me
Together at last at twilight time

Here in the after-glow of day
We keep our rendez-vous beneath the blue
Here in the sweet and same old way
I fall in love again as I did then

Deep in the dark your kiss will thrill me
Like days of old
Lighting the spark of love that fills me
With dreams untold
Each day I pray for evening just
To be with you
Together at last at twilight time

Together at last at twilight time

Be Wise Wizard

In the dark valley, under towering pines
a cloaked figure stands as still as stone
in shifting shadows deep he waits alone
seeking for the magic omens and signs

Star watcher, diviner, and dream reader
looking for hidden secrets to be found there
turning mere lead to wealth of King’s gold fair
mystic searcher, sought to counsel leaders

Comets gleam and what they mean
stars tell secrets or so he says to all
often and loudly in drafty castle walls
divining epic changes in signs seen

But slyly hidden in the showmanship
he searches with true seeker’s intent
for powers surely from heaven sent
to bring him to riches and a power trip

Oft to an evil end when power they do seek
for kings abide no usurper to their crown
a careless moves brings the axe swift down
so caution a thing to stay the sword’s sharp beak

Envy not the wizard’s place beneath the sun
nor hope for his office, robe, or book of spells
for one mistake could trouble bring so fell
and no magic known could that fate undone

Good morning ladies. There is a big yellow thingy in the sky and the birds are singing. Hope that you slept well and had pleasant dreams. Time to plant those tootsies on the floor. LOL. Of course the coffee is plentiful and still hot. This morning besides the banana we have a selection of berries, date nut bread and cream cheese.

Now this would make a wonderful series for “Off the Beaten Path Tours’.

The only problem with that is that my little digital camera doesn't work at all at night. Even if I turn on the flash, it just gets the objects absolutely closest, and everything else is ink black.

Even if the street is brightly lit and looks quite clear to the eye, on the digital camera, it comes out as a dark smudge.

And another point on the karma topic, one lady on the street just stopped me and asked if I wanted to work morning hours over the summer vacation at her small private school! (It's pretty obvious that a white person around here must be an English teacher, I've been profiled!)

There's tons of opportunity here, it's just that the weirdo culture makes it difficult sometimes. But that golden lump in my pocket (is that a check book in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me?), makes me so much happier now.

I can't wait to just start collecting the cash and letting it pile up. Of course, I'll probably be too honest about that too (just as I'm too honest when it runs out), and I'll spark jealousy in the chattering crowd.

I guess it's the fact that I remain totally unimpressed by money that I talk too openly about it. Personally, I put money in the same category as I do hammers and nails, it's just a tool. The true value in life is our personality, learning, and experience. Because if those are all bad, then money can't improve it, and if they're all good, then money is irrelevant. That's how things look to me. Having famous money renunciants like Buddha and Socrates as role models probably doesn't hurt either!

Hello, starbase!

Your hostess took a long sleep in much cooler air and slept for 13 hours! I am so lazy.

Anyway, sorry the camera will not work at night, the carnival atmosphere with the kids would have been delightful. Kids always win over peoples hearts everytime.

Good news on the Summer job. We never know when good things are going to happen for us. Wonderful news for you. Karma, (a lady on the street,) amazing isn’t it?? Well, she knew more about you than you could have ever guessed.

Yes, you are correct money is a tool for basic living, eating, housing, the rest is gravy. You can purchase you lap top and enjoy your life as you wont.

I think the teachings of the orient are full of wisdom and have taken a few of them for use in my own life.

So starbase will be walking down golden paths with lots of jingle to spend. Have a grand time FRiend.

Smell the lotus blossom
floating on water

breath in aromas from cooking stalls
and at days end catch the sunset
from out your window
and know you hold precious memories within.
