Warning! Warning! The Water Is Coming New Orleans !!
National Weather Service ^ | Today | Self

Hey "School-Bus" Nagin,

Has anyone told you the water is coming!

No, it's not a hurricane.

It's weird, all that flood water from your neighbors to the north just happens to run south, right down the middle of your city!

You're been warned! ...for what good that will do.

They will open up the Bonne Carre spillway and the water will fill Lake Pontchartrain with nutrients and divert the water past New Orleans into the Gulf of Mexico. It is a beautiful thing.

The voters should be happy!

In a four-month period, the mayor racked up more than $6,000 in charges for 70 meals, including lunch with his wife on their wedding anniversary. The charges also included expensive meals at places like Red Fish Grill and Commander’s Palace.

the water will fill Lake Pontchartrain with nutrients

When those "nutrients" were in Iowa they were called cow poop.

I advocate turning New Orleans into a giant garbage tip.

Because of it’s location at the mouth of the mighty Mississippi, it is ideally located to accept garbage from the entire Mississippi basin and Gulf Coast.

Fill in the entire Crescent City area with enough garbage, mine tailings, slag, and fly ash to build it up to 30 feet above sea level.

Cover it with 10 feet of dirt, incorporating underground utility grids, a few feet of topsoil, and rebuild on top of that.

Tel New Orleans would become the South’s new ‘Shining City on a Hill’.

Fund the entire project with fair market rate disposal fees.

The central government would order more trailers to be built so that the survivors could live better than they’re used to living, but the manufacturer is out of formaldehyde.

Yep, they've already got it open part-way. If need be, they'll open it further to miimize the pressure on the levees.

I generally don't pay any attention to this stuff unless I hear the word "Morganza" on the news. When they start talking about opening the gates up there, that's when river levels are expected to be *really* high.
