Who's excited for the Republican National Convention.

It better be good. The GOP has a lot of making up to do and it NEEDS to present a strong conservative message especially in the areas of limited government and drilling. And McCain had better pick a good VP. I don't know what emotion I'd call it, but I'm definitely ready to watch this convention.

think this thread and possibly FRee Republic in general is suffering from RINO creep. The definition of a RINO has devolved into anyone who doesn’t agree with ever miniscule iota of every conceivable element of Conservative doctrine as laid down by some unknown but now dead conservative Yoda. The uncontrolled vitriol is an indication of loser mentality. The object of politics and political operations is to govern. With the vast spectrum of opinions it impossible to serve every voter precisely as desired. When this desire is transformed to an ultimatum or demand, it becomes impossible and the demander removes themself from the process. The demander becomes irrelevant. We formerly laughed and jested about Soreloserman. It’s grim when the shoe is on the other foot.

Great post! Bears repeating.

I can’t find a word to disagree with in this post. You hit the nail square on the head! It’s really getting embarrassing.

Your tag line:
"Tolerance is the virtue of the man without convictions" - G.K. Chesterton

It appears that you are very "Tolerant".

McLoser has NEVER supported Conservatives. How can you compromise with NOTHING. It’s laughable. The only one crying in your milk is you. The rest of us have faced reality. Keep drinking your hemlock latte.

With a HAS BEEN RINO as the keynote speaker (Rudy!) and a an uber-RINO dirty old man (Schwarzenegger) as a featured speaker, I won’t be needing any castor oil to make me upchuck.

It sucks. It really sucks.

There will be a lot of groans here on FR when we have the RNC threads going; speaker after speaker trying to pander, and just "Me Too!" shamelessly after the Democrats.

There will be little about shrinking government, fostering individual strength and inpendence, or sealing the borders. It wont be the Republican Party **I** knew.

Just say NO! to RINOCreep.

The Republican Party selection process nowadays for its nominee is hopelessly flawed.

Waving an American flag may feel good, but it does not evaporate that discrepancy.

I agree its flawed but its still so much better than the rest of the world. Waving an American flag not only feels good, but I believe its something we really need to get back to. Too many people don’t appreciate this great country of ours.

About the only thing that would EVER interest me in any Political Convention is if they would do away with the Primaries totally and instead do a no-holds-barred cage match on the final night to determine who would be the nominee.

I woukld pay good money to watch that!

Leaving McCain aside for this paragraph, recent thoughts expressed on FRee Republic exclude most Republicans as RINOs. The definition of a Republican has been revised to include only those having the purest of conservative thought and dogma. Chuck Hagel is a RINO, Olympia Snow is a Liberal Republican, Lindsey Grahm is a Republican

You chose to berate McCain even though he is the Republican candidate and like it or not, now carries the banner for the Conservative wing of the party. He also carries the flags for the other wings of the party. He won delegates to the convention by winning votes of Republicans all across the country. It is comical to hear him called a RINO.

There can be a distinction drawn between being a conservative and being a Republican, but in doing so, in this presidential season, such action can move one into the relm of irrelevancy. /p>

The choice then becomes not conservative or Republican but relevant or irrelevant.

I think it should be postponed.
We’ll be experiencing a major hurricane on Tuesday.
