First, let me state that I support Sarah Palin and I couldn't be happier that she is the VP choice for McCain. Having said that, a friend said that Palin has put a bounty on wolves in Alaska. Specifically, this was the email sent out:
Hoping to boost the number of wolves killed this year by permitees, Palin announced the state would pay $150 for each kill. According to an Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) news release, the bounty was instituted to "motivate permittees to redouble their efforts and to help offset the high cost of aviation fuel, ADF&G will offer cash payments to those who return biological specimens to the department." The state's press release, issued last Wednesday, indicates that "Permittees will be paid $150 when they bring in the left forelegs of wolves taken from any of several designated control areas."
Thoughts?
I also heard that she’s upped the bounty on Sasquatches (plural?) by 50%.
Are you from Alaska?
Yes...it would appear that wolves are causing some kind of problem and the state put a bounty on them. They are not the cute or “MAJESTIC” creatures of myth, the are wolves.
Palin the Wolf Killah! goodness.. the MSM is pulling at straws.
I remember hearing the story in elementary school about how the inhabitants on my hometown EXTERMINATED the wolf population. I thought this was a GOOD thing.
Good for her. I don’t know too much about wolves but I do know that some coyotes killed my favorite dog, Yeller. I wish they would put a bounty on those as well.
Go Sarah!
Have you ever lived in an area where there were a lot of wolves?
Coyotes kept eating my cousin’s dogs out in the desert. Mother Nature is not gentle at all.. not all.
I don’t know about the wolf thing but some liberal blogs are bent out of shape because she went inside a house once without wiping the snow off of her mukluks. I think it’s just another one of those wacky, moonbat conspiracy things though.
I used to bring Wolf skins to school for show and tell. It was cool.
I try to shoot every wolf I see during deer season, here.
They pack up and run the deer.
SSS.
A moose bit a wolf.
The program is designed to increase moose and caribou numbers by reducing the number of predators.
I’m Alaskan Indian: Tlingit, but I don’t currently live there.
My birth father has a wolf refuge in FL and they have been fantastic companions, but I do know Alaska seems to have an abudnance, or rather, overabundance of wolves.
I find aerial hunting barbaric (see it on youtube) and believe there has to be a better way.
I just fear that this could harm Palin and was hoping for some strong, informed opinions on the issue.
The Moose will be rampant during this election. I’m going with Tillamook cheese as a topping.
Palin has teflon.
That’s why liberals are throwing the kitchen sink.
They’re clearly scared, it won’t work.
They’re right.
“Yes...it would appear that wolves are causing some kind of problem and the state put a bounty on them. They are not the cute or MAJESTIC creatures of myth, the are wolves.”
I was told by a farmer that introducing wolves to livestock area is like turning rats and roaches loose in the inner city.
The more I hear about her, the more interested I become in relocating to Alaska
The media will attempt to ‘get her’ on polar bears. For the average suburbanite cable viewer, polar bears are cute and cuddly victims of Dick Cheney’s evil global warming plan. You know they are going to go down this road.
