Queen Victoria was undoubtedly one great World leader.
She had NINE children.
She had a very ill son, Leopold. Leopold was a hemophiliac and was always at risk for bleeding to death. He did as a young adult.
Her son, Bertie, Prince of Wales was a wild man. He had the habit of sleeping with married women from his teens on. In times when sleeping with a married woman could get you killed. Victoria was always saving him from messes.
Her husband died when her youngest was only 4 and several children were under 13. She raised them just fine.
Her daughter Princess Alice died young. Victoria raised her children, one Victoria became the grandmother of Prince Phillip. The other, Alix became the last Empress of Russia.
She managed difficult children and grandchildren, arranged marriages, gave advice and was much loved by her kids. (She allegedly the only one that could keep her grandson, the Kaiser, the one who started WW I, in line. Some say if SHE had been alive, WW I never would have happened.)
AND they think Sarah can't be vice president. HA! Victoria lead a great Empire despite all her family difficulties!
This is actually from a poster on a private forum - so thanks to Vamp. I'm quoting her directly!

Thanks for the ping from Lucyt.
It’s definitely a good idea to take history out and buff it once in a while. :’)
Good post. A lot of women leaders have been the best. Don’t forget about Queen Elizabeth 1 and 2, ETC.
