I volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and we get a lot of kids through AmeriCorps. They are really good kids (or young adults, technically) and they are dedicated, responsible and want to take time in their lives to help others less fortunate. They volunteer for up to two years and are paid right around the poverty level for the area to which they are sent. Is there something wrong with expanding AmeriCorps? Are we supposed to think it is some evil organization?

My grandson was seriously involved with a really nice, pretty, and funny young lady who joined Americorps to get the money for college. She was sent to Arizona for two years. She came back radicalized, and a LESBIAN!
