National/Political:

1) The last half of 2008 will be declared a recession and it will continue through the first quarter. We will have little growth in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, modest growth in the 4th quarter.
2) The Dow will finish at 11,500 on the last trading day of 2009, which will be Thursday, December 31st.
3) Dollar at the end of 2009 will equal € 1.32
4) Unemployment will peak in early fall.
5) Oil will be at $40 ppb on 12/31/09
Sports
1) The Giants and the Steelers will play in the Super Bowl and the Giants will win.
2) UNC, UConn, Pittsburgh, and Texas will be in the 2009 Final Four - UNC will defeat Pittsburgh for the Championship.
3) NBA - Shaq will retire after the season. The Rockets will defeat the Celtics 4-2 to win the championship.
4) NHL - Red Wings over the Hurricanes 4-0.
5) MLB - Boston over the NY Mets 4-3.
6) Danica Patrick will leave IRL for NASCAR, Jimmy Johnson will lose the points race to Jeff Gordon.
7) BCS #1 and #2 December 2009 - Florida and Ohio State. Pete Carrol and Mack Brown leave for the NFL after the college season of 2009.
Entertainment
1) Jolie and Pitt marry by 12/31/09.
2) Spears and Lohan will stay out of jail in 2009, 'Circus' will be a commercial success, but critical failure.
3) AnnaLynne McCord will be the 'it' girl by the end of 2009
4) After nudes of Blake Lively hit the internet, Blake will be fired from the Gossip Girls.
5) Amy Whinehouse will O.D.
Politics
1) Obama will be at 45% approval on 12/31/09
2) Congress will be at 30%
3) A republican will be elected governor of Virginia - how is that for bold!
4) Bloomberg will lose in NYC.
5) Palin will announce her intentions for 2012 by 12/31/08.
6) Romney will drop out of the 2012 race.
7) Rudy will announce he will run for the open US Senate in New York.
World:
Depending on the severity of the following, my previous predictions may not be applicable.
1) Israel and Iran/Hezbollah will be at war by March. 2) Russia will invade the Ukraine in July. 3) Major Terrorist attack in the United States. 4) There will be an attempt on the life of a major world leader. 5) Bin Laden's fate unknown 12/31/09 5) Bibi will be elected PM of Israel

OBamBam with the aide of the Rat congress critters will be well on their way to destroying the US economy in 2009.
The Dow will conitnue to fall as the Obama economy really kicks in.
There will be a major terrorist attack in the US (at least one) and OBamBam will use that as an excuse to take away more of our freedoms — more goobermint, perhaps Martial Law, an excuse to raise taxes.
I think that the Giants & Steelers will make it to the Superbowl if we all live that long.

Barack (not Hussien) Obama will be named Time Magazine’s 2008 Person of the year. Ok, so I’m not going out on the limb much with that one.
I predict 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 are going to be VERY long years.
Rudy will have two intriguing possibilities in 2010. He can have his choice of running against an un-elected governor, or for Hillary’s open senate seat.
The 2009 Virginia elections are going to be big for the GOP. We need to do well there. I very much hope we can get a Republican elected.
I predict Oklahoma wins the national championship early in 2009, and Utah wins their bowl game (so long as they don’t play Florida).
Lets make the Compean & Ramos prediction true.
Please everyone contact President Bush and plead for the release of these two guys. Lets bring them home for Christmas. I know many think its a waste of time, but there is strength in numbers.

Your predictions regarding the economy are very optimistic; I hope you are right in view of: after the 1929 crash, the Dow Jones low wasn’t reached until 1933 and the 1929 DJ high wasn’t reached again until 25 years later. We had a Democrat New Dealer during most of that period as well, you may recall.
You may also recall that a relatively untested liberal guy became President in 1977 with 61 Democrats in the senate and a 67% majority in the house but, the economy went “to hell in a handbasket.”
After we got defeated in these 2008 elections I am not going to make political predictions and in particular elections predictions.
Stock market at 6500 on December 31, 2009. Obama’s approval rating below 33% by May 1, 2009. Britney Spears makes a fool of herself in public (yes I honestly expect it to happen). Al Qaida tests Obama in 2009(see Biden prediction).

Technically, you were correct about ‘no recession’
A recession is two consecutive quarters of negative change to the GDP. By the end of 2008, we will have only one such quarter (a second one is likely).
Obama will disband local police in favor of his own hand picked Obama squads, declare himself the first US Emporer after a generated crisis, create a giant super space station that shoots a massive laser beam, and disband the senate giving control the the regional governors.

I heard the figures in a speech by a Forbes’ guy in a speech last night.
Entertainment: Look for a state owned/run media organization (akin to the BBC) will to be created. NYT/LAT etc. layoffs go here. DVD sales plunge.
World: Chinese instability, Russian aggression (agree on possible Ukraine invasion). Germany and Japan rearm. Obviously mid-East conflict too.
I predict that we will remember who “John Galt” is (or was).
here’s mine:
1. The Fairness doctrine will not pass.
2. Union card check will pass. The mass media will be surprised at how much people hate it.
3. The Freedom of Choice Act will be heavily watered down in Congress and will then pass. The new version will allow people and organizations the right to refuse an abortion, but will also eliminate parental notification and waiting periods. Mainstream media surprised to find the majority of the country doesn’t like the new law.
4. Obama does not pull troops out of Iraq and does not close Gitmo. Mainstream media claim Bush put Obama in a terrible position, and therefore, Obama was forced to break his promise. It is of course all B.S.
5. By the end of the year, the hardcore left will start calling Obama “another Bush.” Leftist rhetoric will get more anti-American.
6. The recession will grow worse through 2009. Obama will try all kinds of spending to stop the problem while only making things worse.
Obama will sign the Freedom of Choice Act. The Pope will publicly denounce him. Rev. Billy Graham will publicly denouce him. Christians will begin to rise from their political slumber.
Rev. Graham will go to heaven.
Sen. Byrd will resign from the Senate.
Speaker Pelosi will authorize congressional inquisitions on fmr. Pres. Bush and former VP Cheney. Congress’ approval ratings will be 20%.
The media will protect Obama and still blame GOP for everthing.
I predict that Obama will wear a long ermine robe and will be crowned by Rev. Wright at his coronation on January 20, 2009.

My prediction - Leo Donofrio wins his case in SCOTUS just in Dec 2008 and other lawsuits will be filed in all 50 states immediately to disqualify Obama.
