MSU research: Genes may influence popularity

EAST LANSING, Mich. — A groundbreaking study of popularity by a Michigan State University scientist has found that genes elicit not only specific behaviors but also the social consequences of those behaviors.

Unfortunately there is no discussion of how a specific gene can predispose someone to a particular behavior. I am not saying the relationship doesn't exist, just that I don't understand the mechanics if you will.
