Bacon Explosion: The BBQ Sausage Recipe of all Recipes
BBQ Addicts - BBQ Blog ^ | December 23, 2008 | Jason

Posted on 01/09/2009 2:01:23 PM PST by Lucius Cornelius Sulla

The other day the guys from BaconToday.com contacted me in search for some barbecue bacon recipes. Of course I have plenty of great uses for bacon in a barbecue pit, but the longer I thought about it, the more I wanted to step it up a notch and clog a few arteries for those guys. Behold, BACON EXPLOSION!!! Here’s what you’ll need…

2 pounds thick cut bacon
2 pounds Italian sausage
1 jar of your favorite barbeque sauce
1 jar of your favorite barbeque rub

Obviously pork is best served by itself, but if you feel the need to make this meat monster into a sandwich, try placing a couple Bacon Explosion slices on a warm Pillsbury’s Grands Biscuit. You’ll reach pork Nirvana is no time flat!

If I'm ever on death row, this will be my final meal.

I see Rudy’s supports our troops.

I take it the sissy sause is hot and that the name is a joke?

there has got to be a way to get butter into that recipe

down here in the south, we'd have to find a way to deep fry it after smoking it - maybe with a batter - hmmm - deep fraud bacon explosion

just a thought

I have never seen the "sissy" sauce at Rudy's and I go there about 4 times/week. It was the only picture I could quickly find on the web.

Rudy's makes killer breakfast tacos too.

The Rudy’s here in North Austin 183 makes around $35k/week just selling breakfast tacos. I wish I had a piece of that action instead of contributing to it.

Hey, Atkins-friendly! (If a good low-carb BBQ sauce can be found...)

Bacon tastes good

Sewer rat might taste like pumpkin pie but I'll never know cuz I wouldn't eat the M..........

Actually I enjoy bacon myself, but a thread about bacon ought to have something from the immortal “Pulp Fiction” dialog.

Per sloop's suggestion, deep fry it in butter. Will not have to worry about the Obama presidency ever again.
