SACRAMENTO -- Here's a variation on the oldest excuse, my dog ate my homework, would you believe, my dog ate my Presidential Inauguration ticket! Yes, it happened to a Sacramento family.A friend had a ticket and dropped it through the mail-slot of Jill and John Amacker. But Webster, the family dog, got to the ticket first. The Amacker's are bringing a baggie with all the pieces of the ticket, along with a picture of their dog standing over his work, and hoping the secret service will let them in.

I could recommend something more exciting for the dog to chomp on . . .
But I wouldn’t want . . . watchers to be concerned.

you know, you had to deversify with the nuns in the parochial school I went to.
‘My dog chewed it up’ could only be used once a quarter or so.
then you had to be creative:
My little brother ripped it up,
My little brother ate it.
the dog peed on it.
I left it in my pants and Mom washed it
