Here is an extract: From, Armed Females of America
With the new President and administration in place gun owners will face new and unprecedented assaults on our right to own the gun of our choosing. We have endured these attacks on freedom in the past, but those are nothing like what we will see in the coming months.
Already legislation is penned and poised to be passed in Congress that is worse than the Clinton era "assault weapon" ban. This one will be permanent and will affect many more firearms than were previously listed. These assaults will continue. The gun grabbers are insatiable in their desire to control our gun rights.
All you gun owners who went out and purchased new firearms in advance of new gun controls may find them on the ban list and may be forced to turn them in. Do you really want to put your trust in the new President and Congress to preserve your rights?
Below you will find a link to H.R. 45 or, 'Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009'. This bill has far reaching implications, including eventual confiscation of firearms if for some reason you don't meet the licensing requirement, now or in the future.
Since we, as gun owners cannot rely on our representatives to protect our God given rights we must assume they will pass this measure. We can no longer sit back and expect the "other guy" to write letters and loudly protest these unconstitutional intrusions. We all must do our part.

GGRRRRRRRR...
Crime will turn to civil war in the suburbs when police try to confiscate legally owned guns. HR 45 would be a “clear and present danger” against the US citizens by the US government.
I didn’t buy guns just to give them up to a dictatorship.
What REALLY drives the Left nuts is that there is no record for half of the 300,000,000 privately owned firearms in the US that have been simply handed down or bought where records were not kept.
See what’s happening? I predicted this congressional overreaching would happen, because those people are inherently compulsive about their power. This is SO going to cost the dems in 2010. I HOPE they try it. Grab popcorn and watch the fireworks.
Perhaps someone can explain it to me and I admit not reading the entire bill, but this looks like a simple record keeping initiative. What is so different about it compared to, say, registering your car? I didn’t see anything about guns being taken away. The requirements listed at http://www.armedfemalesofamerica.com/protest_march.htm don’t seem any more intrusive than might be required to get a hunting or fishing license. Is this just a matter of “give them an inch and they’ll take a mile” fear?
And, I think calling a demonstration/protest “an armed show of force” is irresponsible at the very least.
Doesn’t the idea of gun registration bother you in the least?
Think about it. Without gun registration, how would they know where to go to confiscate them?
No more than registering my car.
I recommend you speak with a former gun owner from The UK or Australia. Unless of course you believe it couldn't happen here...
These people know what the political cost has been, historically, for enacting such laws. They've done the math and feel that, despite rather recent precedent, they can survive the backlash. They are confident that they have whatever mechanism they need in place to negate the pro-gun vote. Sounds like they are supremely confident in ACORN, et al.
We've already seen the news articles with the Dems declaring that the gun lobby's influence is waning. Personally, I think they're mis-reading the tea leaves.
Either way, we should not hang all our hopes on the peaceable resolution of this issue at the ballot box.

No more than registering my car.
Driving a car is a state-licensed privelege, not a Constitutional Right. Are you suggesting that the two are equivalent?
Check out New Hampshire’s reaction to this blatant violation attemption by the Feds:

Why did this thread peter out. This should be discussed at the up-coming regional conventions.
This the kind of whacky stuff that *ought* to have zero chance of passing, but with Pelosi/Reid driving the bulldowzer, it could happen if the people don’t scream. I’m quite curious that this extreme proposed measure has elicited little comment. Heck I’m an NRA member and just heard about it today!!!
