No. He’d have little to gain and much to lose. Besides, Obama is a naive politician in over his head, not the second coming of Stalin.
The more likely danger is that if the economy gets really bad, prominent entrepreneurs and maybe even right-wing voices will get arrested on dubious charges to the cheers of the Moveon.org crowd. That would be a dangerous precedent.
And no one has challenged this unconstitutional POS in court yet!
I guess all the lawyers are too busy chasing ambulances and fighting personal injury cases to take on something important, like defending the Constitution.
Using the U.S. military to enforce controversial policies would be a mistake. Many soldiers would refuse orders, creating chaos and probably mutiny that could spread rapidly.

In (hopefully) four years, or maybe (God forbid) eight, he will be out of office and the pendulum can swing a tiny bit back the other way. It hasn't moved much to the right since Reagan, so we're due at some point.

The answer is no. Its not even a worthy topic to engage in conversation on. You’d have to start with the concept that military officers would take such orders and carry them out. From the top 500 military officers today...I doubt that you could find more than three that might be willing to even take such orders.

He won’t need the military. He OWNS the treasury and will soon OWN the banks. State governments are addicted to federal funding. All he needs are mobs demanding state services.
When are people going to realize that we are in the middle of a coup. 0bama has declared himself king and rules by decree instead of proper legislation. He is bankrupting the country so he can take over the major industries. He is taking away our right to defend ourselves and finally he is silencing all opposition. HE MUST BE STOPPED!
Let’s get this out in the open once and for all. Obama won an election and is passing policies that we do not agree with. There is not a secret cabal. There is no grand communistic conspiracy, there is only American politics as usual.
The Constitution has provided for remedies. We run candidates, we voiciferously and energetically support them and we get them elected to office. Before then, we individually and as organized groups support office holders with whom we hold sway. (Please do a search on this forum for Jim Robinson’s recent thread calling for the formation of a Conservative PAC. He is thinking clearly.)
