On this day in 1836, in San Antonio, Texas, Colonel William Travis issues a call for help on behalf of the Texan troops defending the Alamo, an old Spanish mission and fortress under attack by the Mexican army.

Well they didn’t do it yesterday
I went over to the chamber and they are going to do a bigger deal this year on the 6th Texas Independence Day since its on a Friday.
So I am planning on bringing the kids over then and I will post pictures etc.

Awesome...how about a video of the reading of Travis’ letter...
I only wish a large portion of our country knew more about Texas and its glorious history.
In the future, Texas and Texans may be called on to cross that line in the sand again.
