You shop like I do, it’s what’s on sale even when I can afford whatever. We have a Go grocery that has better meats than some other places, and the bread deals are great.
I add lots of soups to casseroles, crock pot meals etc.
SAUSAGE AND RICE CASSEROLE
1 lb sausage pkg (I prefer hot)
1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper
saute until done with 1 chopped onion, drain
add to 3-4 cups cooked rice with 1 can CREAM OF CELERY SOUP
(1 1/2 c dry rice= 3 c. cooked rice)
Put in 6-8 cup casserole dish, sprinkle with either cheddar, mozzarella or cojack cheese bake until cheese melts...great stuff.
Serve with salad or green beans, it’s excellent.
Oh yeah, I had a few coupons for 10 or 15 cents off per can for 5 to 8 cans each coupon.
Its nice knowing I can go to the pantry and get just about whatever I need to make a good meal.
Now I'll save up until the next sale.
I eat better now than I ever did buying off sales.
Thnx for the recipe.
Every few weeks Meijer has pork blade steaks or western style ribs for $.99 a pound. Its cheap meat but pretty good. I do the blade steaks like I do pork chops, and they come out pretty good. The western style ribs I throw in a roaster with a bottle of my favorite bbq sauce for 2 hours, then finish off the meat on the grill, carmalizing the sauce. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!
"Almost" like having bbq ribs, "somewhat". Good enough for me.
