I’m out of those. If you wanted Sugar-Free Chocolate Chip or Dulce de Leche, we could make a deal!

the calamity would be centered in New England

I hope it's not a plague started by the funny-tasting Chinese food I just ate.

I remember reading his book “The Vision” back in the seventies. Freaked out at the time but as time went on most of his prophecies hadn’t come true yet. I revisited it (didn’t read the book again just read reviews on Amazon) and it seems that about 25% has already come true and the other 75% is very possible in the near future. I think he’s at least worth listening to. I am preparing for the worst (and maybe laugh when it’s no so bad). Got my guns and ammo, got my emergency water and freeze dried food, planting a garden (as soon as the weather breaks). time to hunker down and wait for the sky to open up and the trumpets to sound!!!

Nostradamus was a douchebag that wrote vague generalities and subsequent generations chose to find a context in which to put them. If he was worth a crap, he would have been more specific and allowed people to avert the disasters, or at least prepare for them.

I sure wish a Nostradamite would put his reputation on the line and state publicly what the next prediction will be to come true and when it will happen. But instead they just play the plug-in game while looking backward.

Not a flame against you, but a frustration at the level of fame this charlatan was able to achieve.

If something happens, he will get the credit for predicting it. If a meteor hits the earth within the next 5 years, he will get the credit. If nothing happens, it will be forgotten.

This article does not seem to have all the facts correct.

Rev Wilkerson is warning about riots in the streets of major cities throughout the country and also that the entire NYC area would be engulfed in riots and burning.

He is NOT one of these TV evangelist that just throws crazy stuff out there. This guy walks his talk and his life has been dedicated to reaching out to the most forgotten parts of society. He is the preacher associated with Nicky Cruz, the converted NYC gang leader of the Mau Maus.

With the way things are changing so fast in this country it is not hard for me to imagine rioting in our streets. He has followed up his warning with more messages that exhort people to not become fixated on the coming calamity but to trust in God to see them through this.

Yes you do. The last prophet was Malachi.

I had heard of this when first reported, but read David Wilkerson's blog for the first time today. I have read the urgent message post and skimmed a number of other posts to get a feel for what he preaches and form an opinion (only an opinion) as to his sincerity.

I don't know that I think he is correct, but I do not find the context of his other posts related other subjects to be out of line with what I believe. I have to do more research before I decide what I think, but my initial thinking is he does not seem to be a pastor along the lines of those who ask you to become "partners" or to "plant your $1000 seed". His advice related to his message has not been accompanied by requests for donations to further enrich himself. He asks that people keep a 30 day store of nonperishables, not a bad idea in general. Remember during Y2K there were profiteers who, using fear of an imminent Y2K catastrophe, were selling large stores of food and materials to get you through in the aftermath, never to be seen again afterwards. Wilkerson has not yet (and I think won't) asked for you to buy your stores from affiliated persons.

His subsequent comments, realizing that much fear might arise as a result, have been quite comforting and Bible based. He does not claim to know when these things will come to pass as others making predictions have done, which I think is to his credit. I do not know if he will be proven to be right, but so far, I have not found anything to tell me he is off his rocker or is an opportunist looking to make a buck. Thus, I cannot call him a false prophet as of yet.

Also Jonah, he prophesied to Nineveh their destruction if they didn’t repent. They did repent and God turned His anger from them. I’ll bet some in that day would have said this was a false prophet. In these times, it’s better to be safe than sorry, especially in God’s eyes.

You are correct. Those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who turn their back on Israel will not be blessed.

I think he refers to the riots coming in part due to conflicts within ethnic groups. Not hard to imagine that right now. It could also refer to an uprising by people who have had enough of this Zero administration.

A link to an interesting sermon he gave on the Prosperity Gospel and his disgust with the movement.

http://www.intotruth.org/dev/reproach.htm

An excerpt:

A gospel is being preached that is withering everything that is in sight. Everything that is green and Godly and pure is being withered. The seed is rotten . . . . . there is a famine of hearing the pure Word of the Lord. . . . there is no pasture. The flocks are desolate and hungry. The rivers are drying up. A strange fire is devouring the pastors. Ezekiel says that Shepherds are trampling down the good pasture and eating the best for themselves. What are the shameful disgraceful things that are happening in the Church of Jesus Christ today?

First of all it is the rotten seed that is being preached by covetous Shepherds. This is known as the PROSPERITY GOSPEL.

This is one of the greatest reproaches that the Church of Jesus Christ ever perpetrated since Christ. This perverted gospel is poisoning multitudes - even in China, Africa and all over the world. It is an American gospel invented and spread by rich American evangelists and pastors. Rich!

It alarms me that so many people can hear the tapes and see videos that are coming out of these prosperity conferences and not weep over them. This poison has spread all over the world. Cuba is about to open and they are itching to get in there right now with their Prosperity gospel to tell them, "you have been poor enough now, God wants all Cubans to be rich."
