Paleontologists say a 75-million-year-old turtle fossil uncovered in southern Utah has a clutch of eggs inside, making it the first prehistoric pregnant turtle found in the United States.

At least three eggs are visible from the outside of the fossil, and ...studying images taken from a CT scan in search of others inside.

the turtle was probably about a week from laying her eggs ...

I found a turtle with a broken shell making it’s way across my yard this afternoon. It was an old wound that seemed to have healed just fine but the little fella looked like hell.

So, All you freedom loving Utah folks need to stop all building and development so this 75 million yr old turtle can survive and thirve!!!

Whats that you say that it was extinct looooong ago?? Dont confuse the enviro-weenies with such mundane things as fact.

Remember the motto “The Endangered Species act Uber Alles!!!”

That’s total BS. The turtle is only 74 million years old.

He's fine. It was an old wound and healed over. He's big enough that he doesn't really have many predators in the wild. I just took him around to the front yard and put him on the edge of the water.

I’ve always liked turtles. I had a little snapping turtle for several years till I turned him loose.

Yeah, thanks for treating him nice.

“Cripplecreek” fitting name:)

My husband and I found a turtle last week on the golf course, he had strayed really far from the waterish area, we finished the last hole, took the cart to him and carried him back to the creek. Put him on the side and watched, happened a man and his 3 boys, all under 12 were playing that hole, heheh, boy did they get excited over the turtle making his big splash and cooling off, swam to the shore and looked at all of us like “What!?”

Me too. I’ve never had one, but they are one of the few reptiles that I can enjoy.

My husband grew up with a very large tortoise who slept under his bed and came to him when he called her. They are amazing animals.

I have always braked for them, all my life. Probably saved 100’s. Love them.
