CONCORD – Twenty-seven state parks have been slated for potential sale or give-away by a cash-strapped state Division of Parks and Recreation that wants to jettison properties that don't meet its core definition of state parks.
The Federal government should look at selling lots of land and buildings. Use the funds raised to pay down the debt.

Nope, Mt. Washington is privately owned. However, I’ll take Franconia Notch State Park, where The Old Man of the Mountain used to be.

Actually, a husband-wife team could probably run alot of these with half the cost now associated with them...and turn them into a profitable operation. If I were the state, I’d even offer an incentive via state taxes for private ownership of parks.

Laudable thought, but unless you’re really interested in stimulating the economy, save your money.

The problem is they will sell it to China or Dubai.
If they sell anything it should be to invidiual American citizens, who are the taxpayers who put up the money to buy the land in the first place. Not cities, not states,not to corporations, not to foreign governments but to INDIVIDUALS, the PEOPLE the real owners.

They can sell US taxpayer property. They do it all the time. States who tie up property in parks and lands they cannot afford to maintain and keep open for use by US taxpaying citizens, should be sold to individual citizens, not foreigners nor corporations or NGOs who would profit from the properties rightfully belonging to citizens.
Remember state and federal governments are limited to what they can own by the federal and state constitutions.
