A New Jersey man has pleaded guilty to stealing 91 lobster tails from an Atlantic City casino's kitchen by cramming them into his jacket and backpack. He's been sentenced to four years in prison.
Anthony Jones took the frozen lobsters from Bally's Atlantic City in February and tried to sneak them out in his jacket and backpack. A security guard monitoring a surveillance camera noticed his clothes were unusually bulky, and stopped him.
He pleaded guilty to burglary on Friday in deal with prosecutors, who dropped additional charges.
The lobsters, worth $1,275, were destroyed.
The lobsters were destroyed? The cops could have consumed the meat and left the shell for evidence.
Slowly incinerated on the backyard grills of a dozen Atlantic City policemen.
"I got a bunch of crabs."
They wouldn't have touched him.

4 years? Lobsters must be really important.
I know a guy that CONFESSED to attempted murder (his defense was that it was a case of mistaken identy, he meant to shoot a different guy). He got 2 years in the hoosegow. Then he got out and within 2 weeks robbed a bank. He got another two years for that.
Was the lobster-thief a white hetero by any chance?
Either these lobster tails were monsters, or ya’ll pay way too much for sea roaches down in NJ. I’m still getting any size lobster for $5/lb at Market Basket.
Probably should have been a tattoo of a crab!
I'm glad that was clarified.
You forgot there was major shrinkage!
Hello...my name is Bubba.
Let me show you my lobster.
Pretty nice tail, huh?
It's a good thing he didn't defraud thousands of people of more than $50 billion...
Regards,
Obama, Pelosi, Reid and Frank have stolen billions and they are free! Laws, what laws? They only apply to certain people.
Perhaps he could work off the bill for the lobsters in a couple of days and it will be settled. Let’s let the Dims work off what they stole from us! Might take a few thousand years!

Four years for a non violent crime of goods less than $1500???
That is what is wrong with our criminal justice system. We will spend over $50K a year to incarcerate him for four years.
That is nearly a quarter of a million dollars of tax payer money.
On the other hand, if they had given him a choice of doing four years in prison or
1. Paying $10K in restitution
2. And doing 1 year of picking up trash etc
3. And doing 1 year of community service
4. And 1 month in jail
I feel we would have gotten better results.
