Here is a video report on the arrest of "Survivor" first winner Richard Hatch immediately after an interview he did on The Today Show. He served four years in prison for tax evasion and has recently been out on home confinement. He claims he had permission to do an interview with The Today Show, but he was taken into custody after the interview for some reason. The authorities won't confirm why he was picked up. . . . . . Arrested for being more fabulous than the today show host.
If it has to do with Hatch having contact with the public by doing the interview, then who gave him and ABC permission? All parties claim they got permission so what’s the deal? Prisoners give interviews every day of the week.
He’s an idiot but who did he piss off? Just shows why govt needs to be controlled.
There is a big screw up here, if ABC and Hatch both thought they followed the right channels, somebody in the system is taking heat and blaming Hatch for it. Even his lawyer can't get answers. They never should have rearrested him without the facts.
Exactly. Im not a fan of his lifestyle, but i’ve never heard of anything making him a menace to the community. Had he not won that million bucks and screwed up the taxes, he probably wouldn’t have ever served a day in prison for anything.
He made some government drone mad about something. Maybe something he said in the interview?
If he was straight, he would not have done hard time.
That's what Richard Hatch, the winner of Survivor's first season, said on the Today Show this morning.
When asked if he thought his sexual orientation was the reason he went to jail after being convicted in 2006 of failing to pay taxes on his $1 million prize for winning the reality show, Hatch replied, "I do believe that."
And the confused "gay rights advocate" and blind-as-a-bat Obama sycophant Andrew Sullivan will start demanding to inspect Hatch's grandmother's ob/gyn records to prove this apostate of the cult of The Messaiah is really her child in five...four...three...two
Ok, i looked at the video. He said he was not guilty of any crime, also said he thought he was targeted for being gay. But said he never intentionally evaded taxes.
That made the Soviet judicial system angry. They prefer sincere confessions and a contrite attitude. If he would have acted sorry, told everyone they should pay their taxes, and said it would help pay for healthcare, he would be free today.
And i bet “improper contact with the public” was that he claimed he got railroaded.
Name one prisoner who hasn't claimed he was railroaded. Sounds fishy to me.
I will have to give him credit for dressing better than Michelle.
Lol I was wondering... I didn’t think Apollo had a criminal career,,, heh
From the interview, I believe Hatch was trying to say that the judge who sentenced him was the one who wanted Hatch in jail due to the judges bias against homosexuals.
I just want that media whore Hatch to quit getting his ugly mug on TV.
Since he signed an income tax return that didn't list well over a million dollars in income - more than just the “Survivor” check, by the way - I think it's safe to call him a liar, and to ignore any further things he has to say.
Kathleen Sebelius, Health and Human Services secretary, over $7,000 in back taxes
Tom Daschle, the president’s first HHS nominee,$128,000 tax issues
Nancy Killefer. withdrew $946.69 tax lien on her home for failure to pay unemployment compensation tax on household help.
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner,
didn’t pay Social Security and Medicare taxes for several years while he worked for the International Monetary Fund, and he employed an immigrant housekeeper who briefly lacked proper work papers.
Improper small-business deduction,
A charitable-contribution deduction for ineligible items
Expensing of utility costs that went for personal use
Used his child’s time at overnight camps in 2001, 2004 and 2005 to calculate dependent-care tax deductions. Sleepaway camps don’t qualify
The tax matters were instead the subject of a closed-door meeting between the nominee, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and members of the Senate Finance panel
US Trade Representative Ron Kirk failed to pay almost $10,000 in taxes
Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, The husband of Labor secretary nominee Hilda Solis paid about $6400 to settle tax liens
Most of the tax cheats are easy to locate and are in the cabinet and administration. Maybe he’s interviewing for a job in the Obama administration
“Name one prisoner who hasn’t claimed he was railroaded.”
Red, in The Shawshank Redemption
I think he was arrested because he showed up naked for the interview.
Hatch claims he is innocent. I think he is probably guilty. Regardless, I think he has a right to claim innocence & the DOP has no right to censor him.
This is likely why Hatch was jailed, unless NBC & his lawyer are lying about the permissions they received from the DOP. I doubt it. Obviously, NBC wanted to talk about his conviction & jailing.
Surely, there are numerous completely innocent people in our jails. Don't they have a right to proclaim that innocence? Don't they have a right to try to be vindicated?
Isn't this “silencing” of the “guilty” another example of the methodical enslavement of Americans? Find someone guilty of something - anything, & they can no longer vote, possess a weapon for self-defense, or even express their belief they were wrongfully convicted. What's next, revoke their right to own property?
I see 2 school teachers in Pace, FL will soon join Hatch on the roles of the SILENCED, for saying the Blessing at a school meal.
The arrogance of the ruling class knows no bounds.
