Women have long complained that their faces are often the last thing men look at and now a scientific study has proved them right.
Researchers found that virtually half 47 per cent of men first glance at a womans chest. A third of the so-called first fixations are on the waist and hips, while fewer than 20 per cent look at the face.
Not only are breasts often the first thing men look at, they also glance at them for longer than any other body part, the experts discovered.
Its thought that the reason might be evolutionary, as women with larger chests and slim waists such as opera singer Katherine Jenkins have higher levels of the female hormone oestrogen, indicating greater fertility.
But the researchers conceded that there could be a more prosaic explanation. Men may be looking more often at the breasts because they are simply aesthetically pleasing, regardless of the size, they said.
The scientists recorded which areas men looked at first, the number of times they looked, and how long their gaze lasted, using cameras and mirrors to measure tiny eye movements.
It also found that men began to gaze at the components of the hourglass figure within 0.2 seconds.

Your post reminded me of the concept of flash vs. beauty. Perhaps it is the professional photographer in me, but I have always been attracted to beautiful eyes. Nothing beats looking at a good pair of peepers over a candle-lit dinner.
This photo of Audrey Hepburn was taken by master photographer Yusef Karsch (who did that famous portrait of Winston Churchill). The perfect lighting and pose draws your attention to that womans greatest beauty. I love this photo.
Does anyone know how to post a hologram?
Nope. Sorry. It may have to be in a GIF format already to work.
this is such crap
I notice...first is vague glance they are not fat:
1) face-hair first..eyes first of that..eyes are the “tell” if they are worth pursuing no matter how fine they might be
2) breasts..yep
3) ass-legs close third
*this is old data...I hear now younger women often just sleep with guys for nothing..we had to work for “heaven”
1. I salute your database/pictoral retreival abilities
2. And I laugh at the current “study”. As my awareness of Benton’s “Persephone”
was zero until I ran across an OLD article (”Life”?) that mentioned that
a study involving “eye-motion” tracking showed that the male of
my species instintively checked out a female’s chesty assets without
fail. Even when being presented with an obviously static image
like Benton’s “Persephone”.
The Politically-Correct crowd that’s outraged by this fundamental
asset to the continuation of the human species might as well be
fighting against other hard-core realities like gravity and other
fundamental laws of physical reality.
Fortunately my deal old mom and female relatives did gently (and inobtrusively)
instruct me that the ladies do like/love a bit of discretion in
the male of the species when it comes to an encounter with
“a lovely pair”.
Susan couldn't help staring at Bob's enormous pens
Could it be, because that was your first encounter coming out of the womb?!
This is going to be a good thread. I’m going to read every post. And look at every picture. (Unless some idiot posts a picture of Helen Thomas.)
That is a great picture of Audrey Hepburn. She was a truly beautiful woman.
I guess I must be odd, but the most important thing to me are the eyes. I know a dancer who obviously has the body, but I can’t take my eyes off her face when she’s not looking at me. She’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen to date.
When she looks at me with those beautiful, expressive brown eyes, I get lost. I have to break eye contact sometimes so that I don’t look like an idiot. And when she playfully winks with that lovely smile...oh, my.
Nothing else matters to me when I look at her.
Nawww, for this one, I'll go ahead and blame God...
“Good thing I have a winning personality” ping.
Who is image 1? I don’t recognize her. Exceedingly pretty though.
I don’t think Ms. Loren was jealous, she was just waiting for Jane to fall out of that dress.
