I wonder if Purdue’s coach called time out so ND could line up for their field goal...
At least the Hoosiers tied the Huskers. I remember a rainy IU-Nebraska game in Memorial Stadium in 1979. I think it was 35-0 Nebraska at the end of the 1st Quarter. The worst part was thinking before the game that we actually had a chance to win. Then Nebraska took the field; their linemen didn’t have legs, they had treads.

USC may have come away with a tie against the Oregon Ducks in its season opener, but the team shows promise. I believe the team captain, Joe Shell, is destined for fame far beyond the gridiron.

I saw the score of the USC-Oregon game but was unable to find the story about it. Maybe it was a late game and there was nothing sent in by deadline.
