A MAN has pleaded guilty to driving his motorized lounge chair while drunk and crashing it into a parked car after a drinking session.
A criminal complaint says 62-year-old Dennis LeRoy Anderson told police he left a bar in the northern Minnesota town of Proctor on his chair after drinking eight or nine beers.
Prosecutors say Anderson's blood alcohol content was 0.29, more than three times the legal limit, when he crashed his motorised La-Z-Boy into a parked vehicle in August 2008. He was not seriously injured.
Police said the chair was powered by a converted lawnmower and had a stereo and cup holders.
Sixth Judicial District Judge Heather Sweetland stayed 180 days of jail time Monday and ordered two years of probation for Anderson. His attorney, David Keegan, did not immediately return a call for comment.

Maybe he had understeer and couldn’t get enough grip under the arm rests.
If you got drunk and crashed yer motorized Lazy Boy into a parked car...
YOU MIGHT BE A REDNECK!
Oh yeah, now that you mention it, that wasn’t all that long ago either...
Locally, we had a guy who was forbidden to drive a car due to DUI’s, and he was later arrested for driving a horse and buggy to and from a bar.
I lived in a very, very small town in Arizona for a short while ... they gave out a DUI for riding a horse drunk.
Well, this could be good. Imagine how innocuous the accidents would be if we merely drove sofas and soft chairs down the freeway.
LOL! Looterman strikes again!
Sounds like half of a dream presidential ticket in 2012 - Nancy Pelosi and Looterman, you could call it the:
Whore-Looterman ticket.
Wheelie bars...now that thinkin’ ahead.
It is interesting to see what people use to get around when they loose their license. This guy actually brings his own chair to the bar too.
