Below are excerpts from the online chat between Jolie and Ogundele as they plotted murder Jolie: Bruv that girl won't leave me alone. She's taking it far now. It gives me a bellyache thinking about her. Ogundele: Oi I will ****ing kill her yeah, **** her bruv, she's a ****ing *****

Jolie: You're ****ing telling me mate. She's trying to **** up my life. She needs to get out the equation somehow. I don't care if she lives or dies because the consequences of her having a child are too big for me to handle Ogundele: I'm serious, we will plan it Jolie: Have you done this before? Ogundele: Sumfin like dat. Jolie: Then it's hard, it's a big risk. Ogundele: She needs to go tho, I cud do it a easier way. Jolie: What's that? Ogundele: Get a fiend (drug addict) to do it for a couple rocks (cocaine) Jolie: I can already see flaws that's why. Ideally yeah I don't want us to be involved like that Ogundele: Wot if I get da fiend to batter da baby out of her? Jolie: You could do that but that is even baiter (dangerous). Shes gettin stamped out in her stomach Ogundele: I'll get da fiend to duppy (kill) her den. Jolie: Either way a fiend needs to do it probably and do it correctly Ogundele: We will do it den..

The judge described the victim as a 'bright and attractive girl' who is likely to suffer long-term psychological distress.

Seeing it’s England they’ll be out in four ....

Makes me ashamed to be an American to know that we've exported this poison to the rest of the world.

A columnist famed for her genius IQ was asked by a reader why modern art had replaced traditional art. THe columnist replied that people were no longer willing to dedicate the needed time and effort to perfecting technique - the old masters labored for decades and invested their lives in their art. The modern art ‘masters’ want their fame and money NOW and they never intend to develop true mastery - it takes too long. SO they decide shocking, offending, or industrial ‘works’ (did you see the film clip where the skill saw cut in a plaster wall, probably done by a workman mounting other paintings, was itself on sale for tens of thousands of dollars in a chic art gallery?)SHOULD be art, and we SHOULD want repulsive, ugly, canvases and sculptures throughout our houses to ‘reject’ bourgeois culture.
I think the same thing happened to music. This lust for ‘egalitarianism’ (people without talent should be as popular and well compensated as people who spend their lives mastering opera or the violin) brought out this attack on music. And dance became gangsta moves because not everyone is graceful and can keep time, but even a baby can mimic gangsta moves which are intentionally jerky and visually displeasing. And poetry - not everyone is Keats, so poetry must be reinvented as a-tonal, a-rhthmic ‘free verse’ - really any Tweet is now considered poetry. We are lucky that we have musical recordings, paintings, books, poems, and dances that have been preserved for us (for now) beause the young don’t even know they exist or why they matter.

All good points. But something has to be said about European culture. That’s just what we do- Europeans could travel to Mars, terraform it and we’d have a beautiful planet and classical music and within days, there would be people clamoring to try and get there.

Some other cultures would join us...I think the Japanese, for example, would put in serene gardens, koi ponds, and gentle stringed instrument and flute would waft through the air. I don’t know of equivalent development (complexity, aesthetic appeal) having been achieved in 3rd world countries (seems socioeconomic) but I could be wrong about that. I can’t remember the name of the literary critic who was aghast at the suggestion that he was racist because he focused on refined, gifted literature but he said something like (paraphrasing) “Give me the Shakespeare of the Masai and I shall read him!” We would welcome beauty from all races and ethnicities (we stand in line waiting for hours to get into museums just to admire it) but we just aren’t willing to declare that poor effort and skill equals supreme effort and skill.Well...our side of the aisle is least likely to do so, I think.

“I see a red sash, I kill the man wearing it!!!”

Same should be true for gang signs.
Shoot on sight, shoot to kill.
Problem solved.

Good luck finding anyone who has heard of Jean-Michel Jarre or Oxygene these days. I’m 28 and only the “weirdest” of my peers are willing to give him a try, but even they haven’t usually heard of him previously.

Goes without saying I tend to prefer the company of the “weird ones”. :-)
