Huh? I thought these were KIDS' books (and movies)?
To: Behind Liberal Lines
Clearly not a children’s movie any longer.

I guess the series wants to go out with a bang!
Full disclosure: I’ve never read a word of HP.

Typical Hollywood - when the creative juices run dry, just resort to nudity and sex.

The kids that started reading these books when they were originally published are young adults now. However I fail to see the point of nudity in it.

Huh? I thought these were KIDS' books (and movies)? I'm not sure where the nudity comes in but the final book is not for little kids. It deals with real violence and death. The assumption is that the kids who started with Harry Potter 1 are old enough to handle it.

Oh NO! Say it ain’t SO! JK should have put the skids on that idea - it’s NOT in the book - I am utterly depressed by this - next thing you know Edward will get it on with a were wolf! Nothing is sacred in the Obamanation of the world - NOTHING! ARRRRRGH!
To: reagan_fanatic
Exactly. The concept here is actually in the book. An attempt is made to subvert Ron by making him jealous of Harry. But there's no sex in the book. There's no need for sex. Skillful filmmaking can show jealousy without showing sex.
But Hollywood does not specialize in skillful filmmaking.

The kids that started reading these books when they were originally published are young adults now.So they are writing new (younger) fans? That doesn't make a lot of sense.
That'd be like me demanding that Charlie Brown and Lucy start getting on just because I'm now an adult.
To: Behind Liberal Lines
These began as some very nifty, imaginative and entertaining movies. They were just fun to watch. Why in the world destroy them in this way. What a shame.

The Harry Potter series was OK.
However, it's not been for kids since about #3 or 4 in the series.
The movies, IMHO, have never been for kids. Not little ones at least.

JK should have put the skids on that idea - its NOT in the bookI think JK got co-opted a long time ago. She's always been a lib and as she hangs out with H'wood it's harder and harder not to be affected.

...what can you expect?...the whole “Twilight” thing is kicking Potter’s ass

"Full disclosure: Ive never read a word of HP." LOL...sme here. I've never seen the movie "ET" either. The summer it came out, everybody told me that I had to see it. They seriously underestimated my obstinacy.

Harry Potter turns into Harry Potty?
To: Behind Liberal Lines
By the last book the majority of the characters are 18, each book is aimed towards Harry’s age.
