This was a hard piece to write, because guns by definition are manly, except for Berettas, gold-plated TEC9s, .25 caliber pistols or anything made by the French. To simplify things, I have limited it to modern cartridge firearms a man might, can, and should collect and shoot. There are certainly other manly weapons, and you may have a different list. As long as the list contains nothing French, gold-plated, .25 or with pearl grips (which Patton correctly observed are the mark of a New Orleans pimp), it is a good list.

Have two, had four of the other ones. I see Arthur is doing well for himself these days. This list is several years old. He posted it on Ted Nugent’s forum before it became a pay site. He took a few hits for excluding the Garand and the Thompson from the list. It also lacks a 585 Nyati, which is beyond question the manliest caliber ever devised for a shoulder fired weapon.
Personally, I would have omitted the Schmidt - Rubin for the F.A.L.

Perfectly legal as long as it’s registered. Send form 1 off to BATFE with the specifications and the money, then get out your hacksaw when the form comes back with the stamp. AFAIK, it’s legal in your state.
I completely agree with the assessment of the SMLE. I purchased an undisclosed number of them (in .308) a while back for about $115 each. Cleaned ‘em up, zeroed ‘em, gave away a couple and dispersed the rest to other locations. It’s the rifle you use to get another rifle.
Mine was nickel plated with Indian Police markings, very rare. I bought it from The Bandito Gun Shop in Weimar, CA, on Interstate 80, just east of Auburn. I paid about $450 for it in the mid 1970s. Mine was really a pristine gun.

If you allow that substitution, substitute the full length Mosin-Nagant 91-30 for the M44 carbine, and replace that pantywaist AR-15/M-16 mouse gun with the ballsy FN-FAL, I'd have 6 of 10. But I'd have to say my vote for "manliest" firearm ever has to be the M-1 Garand. I hope to acquire one next year.
