Daring to Utter the "R" Word
Hampton Roads Tea Party ^ | January 5, 2010 | Norvell Rose

Posted on 01/05/2010 7:14:57 AM PST by ToughLove

It’s beginning to happen, and to happen with greater frequency and fervor. Americans across the country, concerned citizens of all stripes and positions, are starting to utter the “R” word. No, the word is not “Reform”; not “Republican” nor “Recall”; neither is it “Racist” nor “Religion”. The word once rejected, then thought, eventually whispered, now uttered evermore freely is “Revolution”.

The Founders revolted far before they were at the sorry situation we’re in.

I pray that should CWII ever arrive, it will be quick and relatively bloodless, and the perpetrators of the current liberal treason are punished according to their crimes, so that the adults can get back to work rebuilding this once-great country.

Anyone else find it ironic that the last time we heard this “R” word was in the late 60s’ and it was coming from the mouths of those who are now in charge?

Oh it’s coming, but we still have a ways to go in GD II (Great Depression Two) before it all cracks.

I don’t think the classic concept of a “revolution” has much real application here.

However, I do see more and more people and states opting out of federal programs, and a more dramatic electoral revolt. The question is whether conservatives will end up victorious or just frustrated.

When you look at states like California and see what liberals and public sector unions can do, there is a formula to screw things up almost beyond repair. Obama plans to do to us what teh democrats have done to most cities.

Those folks in the 60’ got their revolution, which is why we’re in our current sad state. It was a slow, quiet revolution that only recently began bearing fruit.

Personally, I’m more for Reformation or Restoration than Revolution.

I agree. It won't happen until the facade of our civil society crumbles. The underlying structure has already been hollowed out by decay, but most people only notice the facade.

So long as people have American Idol on their Tivo and they can text each other all day about what they had for breakfast, they will remain comfortable sedated.

Yes indeed, I've noticed it since the first Clinton administration. All the "off the pigs" types now are the pigs. Robert Bork made the observation in 1990 in his superb book The Tempting of America - The Political Seduction Of The Law that... "The dissenting culture is now the dominant culture, and the previously dominant culture is now the dissenting culture."

Perhaps the next dreaded letter is "A" followed by "R".

Well think of it this way: A new, far-more restricting Constitution could be written and voted on, as well as not having to wait to phase out government programs, as they would be ended post-haste.

As long as people have their cable tv and their McDonalds and their porn sites, nothing will happen.

The federal gov't is too big. We have let them get too big. It's our own fault. Now we have to live with it.

The only thing we can do is find a state with relatively low taxes and try to stay out of sight. That's what I'm gonna do when I retire.

The big difference in this revolution is not to overthrow the government but to restore it to it’s constitutional limits.

The Founders would be appalled, sickened and disgusted by the fact that actual Americans had not overthrown our criminal government long ago!
