I’d rather buy a car from the Toyota company than from the fascist-owned GM.

Same here. Did you notice they haven't been pounding the Prius as much...presumably because they don't want to cut into electric vehicle sales even to promote GM.

Love my Tundra - Talk is cheap - I had an 85 4Runner I got rid of last year - still ran like a top but the body was a mass of rust. Got to the point I couldn’t open the doors - loved that truck. And I still have a 68 Landcruiser that runs good - again overtaken by rust. My family and friends are through car after car - my daughters Olds is a piece of crap and is in for some ignition thing right now.....

Should be Healthcare Owners keep a safe distance from the Rats in DC. If Obamacare passes, GM will fail too. Ford, Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Nissan will be the only ones producing and selling in the USA. Forget Hyundai and Kia. See Obama will make it possible for the safety lacking vehicles from China to be imported. See the chinese car crash test dummies. Toyota has only a few cars being recalled compared to GM. This toyotathon recall is part of the Obamaagenda to get people to buy his crap cars. Buy a FIAT Fix it again tony, ask around about the Fiat fom the 80s crap cars, remember the Yugo, based on a Fiat - craptucalar vehicle

When the government came out and started making insane comments about not driving, my reaction was, “Why on earth would any government official say something so outrageous.”

Then it hit me immediately: This is how “corporations” work when they are owned and run by the government. They have no real competition because they can change the rules so that they win. They have free advertising. They don’t have to worry about bad press. And they can do whatever they want to destroy their competition.

Toyota is killing the American car manufacturers in the compact-car market. The government, who owns GM, can’t stand that. So they are attacking the entire company and trying to destroy the perception of some great cars over one flaw, which the company is fixing.

When I heard Obama's people say not to drive the cars it struck me as a very odd thing to say...it only took 10 seconds for me to realize it likely had something to do with Obama running GM. I wasn't planning on buying a government car but this sort of dishonest behavior just cements it even more for me.

Welcome to FR.....we’ve always loved our Toyotas; coincidentally, though, today is trade-in day for our beloved ‘97 Camry. We’re going the Honda CR-V route this go round.

Luv it! Intriguing, the recall of Toyotas, trouble at Honda ... almost like Government Motors sabotage!

Your brand preference is likely insurmountable, but ... we and our closest family friends both own Ford Escapes (comps to the CRV) and have over 250,000 trouble-free miles between us on our 2001 Ford Escapes. Our is a 4 wheel drive; theirs is a front wheel drive.

You should at least look.

... and then buy your Honda if you must.

I have an ‘06 Camry, bought new. I just hit 138,000 miles. All it’s needed has been tires, windshield wiper blades, a lightbulb, gas, oil and filters. Still on the original brakes. I’d buy another Toyota in an instant.

And Toyota stocks are climbing in pre-market. Go figure.

The GM Cobalt has been recalled. There are 905,000 units from 2006 forward. There are 1,100+ complaints regarding defective power steering units. Anyone notice the 24/7 coverage of this recall? sd

Okay, here’s my reply to those PO’d about the bumper sticker –

1. This was intended as a joke, notice it’s posted under "humor".
2. The idea was mine.
3. Toyota makes a good car/truck, they just screwed up.
4. I do not support the Obama administration.
5. I own a 2006 Chevy HHR and a 2004 Hyundai Accent.

The Hyundai has over 80,000 miles and I’ve only had to change oil regularly and the tires and brakes once.

I recently purchased the HHR. It had 40,000 miles on it. So far the dealership has had to replace all the sway bar linkages, the complete steering column and just yesterday, both front struts due to rattles. There was also a water leak which caused the front driver side carpet to become soaked. The driver’s seat belt had to be replaced and the left rear speaker repaired.

In Chevy’s defense, they thankfully threw in a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty with the deal. Good thing huh…? I’ve sent both the dealership and GM sincere thank you’s and gave high marks for both GM and the dealership on their customer survey.

So if I offended anyone, I apologize and I do agree that the government is taking advantage of Toyota's situation.

Sincerely - eyekarry

Hey, EK, I was only kidding back.
I actually like GM cars (I have a 53 Olds Super 88!), just wouldn’t buy one after the government stepped in.

I think most freepers just wanted to make sure that everyone was aware how Obammie and his Commies were taking advantage of this “crisis.”
