Communism, Christianity, and the White House

Greetings and Salutations!

O.K. for years I have not made a post. I thought to myself this week, maybe it is time. Some years ago, I focused a lot more politically with my former site voterepublican.net. However, with the kids taking more of my time and the focus as a preacher toward more study and sermon preparation, the time I might have given to posting and discussing went away.

As a preacher, discussing political situations is supposed to be a no-no in many people's eyes. I never have bought into that whole idea. However, I don't talk about politics just to talk politics. There has to be a spiritual element in it for me to discuss them in classes or sermons. Most material I discuss in church, likely would not be particularly suited to the forum here as it would be predominantly religious doctrine. However, the topic of communism I believe is appropriately applied to both the religious and political forum.

The sermon linked to in this post is one I delivered Sunday. Here in Wyoming, it is of course met with open arms. We are not of the liberal persuasion out here. However, there are a great number of folks who in email from other portions of the country took great offense to the sermon. I will leave it to you whether or not to be offended, but if you are, so be it. Enjoy.

The information presented in the sermon is first, why should communism be spoken about in a Church Assembly? Second, is communism compatible with Christianity? Many folks these days do not have a firm understanding of the dangers of communism and see it rather as a shiny beacon of utopia. Our parents and grandparents likely have a far different view. The third aspect I examine is whether or not the Bible approves of disagreement with the government or if it provides examples of followers of God pointing out the sins of those governing.

The next aspect of the sermon points out some of the state goals of communism, which most of us are familiar with on this forum and have discussed at many points. This then turns to a focus on the communist in our White House. It mentions his family communist ties, his associations with known communists, and then his actions in line with communist doctrine since he has been annointed... elected.

Finally, the sermon wraps up with direction for followers of God in dealing with the enemy of communism. What should be the response to the threat? How does one cope with having a communist in the White House?

Anyway, hopefully the sermon will be helpful to those who would a Biblical approach to an issue that is certainly pertinent today. Until something else strikes me to post again, Freep On!

Just listened to your sermon. It was spot on. Would to God we had more preachers like yourself to name out Socialism and Communism for the great evils that they are. I will be bookmarking your website for later perusal.
