Last night, Jon Stewart defended his Comedy Central colleagues, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators of "South Park," in a 10-minute segment bashing a radical Muslim group for issuing a death threat against the rude-humor duo. You can watch the segment ,a href="http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-april-22-2010/south-park-death-threats">here (warning: some PG-13 language).
"I say this to anyone who's threatening death in the name of religion or politics," Stewart concluded, standing in front of a gospel choir for the second time this week, before offering his now-trademark bleeped-out sign-off, which begins with "Go" and ends with "yourselves."
"South Park," which has satirized just about every major religious and political figure, dead or alive, can still stir up controversy after more than a decade on the air. In last week's 200th episode, the creators mindful of Islam's strict ban on any visual depictions of the the Prophet Muhammad concealed the animated Muhammad character in a bear costume or in a U-Haul truck. So viewers never actually saw Muhammad.

yes. And I am glad he went there. Ballsy and it is American ballsy which is another reason America is a beacon of light to the world. Not much of a Stewart fan but in this regard I give him great kudos.
If Al Qaeda in Boston blows up Stewart or Comedy central I think it will be Christians fault
not much of a fan?
he’s a first class dick
What we need are some groups who push back against the Muslim hordes with the same threats they use. So, for example, if some group like CAIR says “If South Park shows Mohammed, the infidels Stone and Parker will be beheaded in the name of Islam, “ then we have our group issue a statement that says, “If any Muslim touches Stone or Parker, there will be Muslim heads cut off with swords soaked in pig fat.” Time for the gloves to come off people.
Exactly.
Would be funny to see Jon Stewart owe his life to a Christian. :)
It was Comedy Central that pussied out, not Stone and Parker. Stone and Parker turned in a normal show, and Comedy Central bleeped out a lot of stuff, even a minute at the end that didn’t even mention Mohammed.
lol. Well stated. I agree.
