HASTINGS, Neb. (AP) - The Adams County Courthouse meeting room will soon be getting an official portrait of President Barack Obama nearly 18 months after Obama was elected.
The portrait will hang in a spot that had held a framed black-and-white photo showing the president with a cigarette hanging from his mouth. That photo drew a complaint from a county official who found it disrespectful.

Just cause he says smoking is good for children?

That photo drew a complaint from a county official who found it disrespectful. Obama chose to be photographed in that pose. It seems he is disrespecting Obama's choice of photograph pose by complaining.

When he does something worth respecting, he gets a real portrait.

Good thing I'm not a teacher...I just might...well....
Show it to the little kids and see what they think....They'll nail him real quick.
And my little kiddies....he was a coke head, too. Now, he's just a thug...

Sounds like someone should run a grand jury case in that county courthouse.

Disrespectful? Obama begs to disagree. After all, if he thought it was disrespectful, he wouldn’t have appeared in public like that.....

LOL! I find ObaMao’s occupation of the White House to be disrespectiful to the American people. Americans did not elect him. Voters pretending to be Americans did.

Hmmm. While I "get" it, I think that it is disrespectful, and not befitting of a formal environment. Salute the office, not the man.
Fits in pretty well here at FR, though. :-)

That photo drew a complaint from a county official who found it disrespectful. I agree that our new President is disrespectful of those who disagree with his policies, but that is no reason to install a different photo.

The photographer who took that photo sat on it until after the election.
Might not have helped his candidacy (which could’ve hurt him just as the election eve release of Bush’s decades old DWI arrest cost him the popular vote) and certainly the photo was worth more of a “young President” than of a “young Presidential also ran”.

That’s kind of funny that they chose that picture.
What bugs me though is that in the picture Biden chose for display at military installations (where they have pictures of all the “leadership”, Biden isn’t wearing a tie. It’s very disrespectful to our service people, although I’m sure Biden thinks it shows he’s just one of “the guys”.
